How Long Will the Route Be?
The planned metro line will run for about 35-40 kilometres, starting from Bhakti-Shakti Chowk in Nigdi and stretching all the way to Chakan. Once completed, it will connect nearly 75 percent of Pimpri-Chinchwad through a quick, comfortable, and eco-friendly public transport network.
This move is also expected to give a solid push to industries and the local economy by improving smooth connectivity along the industrial belt.
As per Free Press Journal, MLA Jagtap highlighted that Pimpri-Chinchwad's transformation into an industrial hub began under the leadership of the late Laxman Jagtap. 'Carrying that legacy forward, I raised this demand in the State Assembly, and now we're closer than ever to seeing it happen!" he said.
In another major development, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has suggested extending the metro network from Loni Kalbhor to Uruli Kanchan, to tackle rising traffic congestion along the Pune–Solapur Highway and support rapid urban growth.
