RCMP executes search warrant at cannabis store in Millbrook, prompts protest: N.S. RCMP
One man was arrested after a search warrant was executed at an illegal cannabis storefront in Millbrook, according to a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP.
Millbrook RCMP and Colchester County District RCMP executed a search warrant under the Cannabis Act at a storefront on Willow St. on Wednesday.
Police say a man was arrested, released and will not be charged.
'Investigators anticipate that other people will face charges as the information and evidence collected during the search warrant execution is analyzed,' the release from the RCMP said.
During the search, police say officers seized a quantity of illegal cannabis and unstamped tobacco.
While the search warrant was being executed, a group of protestors gathered outside the storefront.
'The RCMP respects the rights of everyone to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, and notes that demonstrations were peaceful, lawful, and safe for all parties involved,' the release continued.
'The RCMP reminds residents that the only legal way to purchase cannabis in the province is at licensed locations.'
