Howard threatened to send students to collection. They're fighting back.
When Taliana Singleton saw Howard University trying to woo incoming freshmen on social media with talk of unity and love, she says she opened up her Instagram to set them straight. Roughly 1,000 Howard University students had learned this summer that they owed thousands of dollars in past-due tuition and were told they needed to pay off the balances in a matter of weeks, or risk being sent to collections or having their degrees withheld.
