The 2025 French Open was a historic one, and the numbers back it up.
American tennis sensation Coco Gauff and Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz won the titles at Roland-Garros over the weekend.

Gauff beat Aryna Sabalenka in the women's singles final on Saturday, though she needed all three sets to defeat the World No. 1, 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4. Meanwhile, Alcaraz took down Jannik Sinner in a thrilling Sunday finale that went to five sets (4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6) and lasted five hours and 29 minutes — making it the longest French Open final ever.
Following their wins, the French Open announced on Monday that the 2025 iteration of the Grand Slam tournament made history. Apparently, a total of 685,000 people came to watch the competition in Paris, setting a new attendance record at Roland-Garros.
"Record numbers on and off the court," the French Open Instagram account posted.
"Roland-Garros 2025 sets new attendance highs to headline our Stat of the Day by @infosys."
Sure enough, fans were ecstatic about the news, with many heaping praise on the tournament, as well as on Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz for their performances throughout.

Throughout the tournament, several fans raised concerns about the empty seats at Stade Roland Garros. Clearly, though, attendance is not an issue for the organizers given the latest turnout.
