Teen driver charged with intoxication manslaughter in fatal Garland crash, police say
An 18-year-old Cadillac SUV driver accused of speeding into a Garland intersection and crashing into a Nissan SUV — killing its sole occupant — has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, police said. Alan Ernaldo Marmol Melendez was taken into custody after the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Garland Avenue and Kingsley Road, according to the Garland Police Department. Police said Marmol Melendez's black Cadillac SUV was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it struck the eastbound Nissan SUV in the intersection. Marmol Melendez and a passenger in his vehicle sustained minor injuries. The passenger was hospitalized and later released, authorities said. Marmol Melendez is being held in the Garland Jail. Round Rock police identify 3 killed in Sunday crash, woman arrested for DWI
The Brief Three people died in a three-vehicle crash on I-35 in Round Rock early Sunday morning. The victims were identified as Agustin Guillen, Quinn Stegall, and Maximo Ramirez. Kearra Thomas was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash. ROUND ROCK, Texas - Round Rock Police have released the identities of the three people who were killed in an early Sunday morning crash. They have also identified the person who was arrested on a charge of DWI. What we know According to Round Rock Police, the crash happened on northbound I-35 near Palm Valley Blvd. and involved three vehicles. Officers were called to the area around 2 a.m. Three people died at the scene. They have been identified as 38-year-old Agustin Guillen of Georgetown, 21-year-old Quinn Stegall, of Round Rock, and 49-year-old Maximo Ramirez, of Greenville, TX. Investigators say 22-year-old Kearra Thomas, of Belton, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash. El Paso Police: Man arrested in motorcycle crash that killed his passenger
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is facing an intoxication manslaughter charge in a motorcycle crash back in March that killed his female passenger, El Paso Police said. Police said they arrested Nathan Verdugo, of Las Cruces, on Thursday, May 8, in connection with a crash that killed 20-year-old Isabella Rose Mendez, also of Las Cruces. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $150,000 bond, police said. Woman killed when thrown from motorcycle on Spaghetti Bowl At 12:30 a.m. on March 3, Verdugo crashed his motorcycle at the Spaghetti Bowl in Central El Paso. Police said he was traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. 54 going south. As he entered the ramp from U.S. 54 to Interstate 10 West, he struck a barrier, causing his passenger to be ejected from the motorcycle. Verdugo was transported to a local hospital and was treated for serious injuries. His passenger, Mendez, died at the scene, police said. On April 29, the El Paso Police Department's Special Traffic Investigations Unit completed its investigation into the crash. A warrant was issued for Verdugo, and he was arrested this week.
