ITV Sophie Turner series Joan won't return for second season
ITV 's drama series Joan, which depicted the life of real-life jewel thief Joan Hannington, has been cancelled after its first season.
The cancellation is attributed to the unavailability of the show's star-studded cast for filming further episodes.
The six-part series, starring Sophie Turner as Hannington, aired last autumn and attracted over four million viewers per episode.
Joan Hannington was Britain's most notorious diamond thief, responsible for stealing millions of pounds worth of jewels over nearly two decades.
Sophie Turner, the lead actress, has several upcoming projects, including playing Lara Croft in Amazon 's Tomb Raider series and roles in Cloud One and The Dreadful.
