Dubai Judicial Institute signs MoU with French National School for the Judiciary to foster judicial training

The Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the French National School for the Judiciary (École Nationale de la Magistrature - ENM) as part of its efforts to reinforce strategic partnerships and promote the exchange of judicial and legal expertise. The key objective of the agreement is to reinforce bilateral collaboration in judicial training, develop shared insights to improve the capabilities of judicial members and navigate legal challenges of the modern world. The MoU was signed at the headquarters of DJI in the presence of Her Excellency Judge Dr Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi, Director General of DJI, Judge Haffide Boulakras, Deputy Director of the ENM in Paris, and Judge Philippe Solomon from the Cultural Attaché Office at the French Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The agreement signifies a comprehensive framework for joint efforts across various judicial training fields and exchange of best legal practices. Furthermore, it aligns with the Institute's mission to prepare and qualify judicial cadres and supports its vision to strengthen its position as a pioneering institution in judicial training that showcases legal excellence and global competitiveness. Dubai Judicial Institute Board of Directors holds its second meeting for 2025

The Board of Directors of Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) convened its second meeting of 2025 on May 27, 2025, at the Institute's headquarters, chaired by H.E. Counsellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of the Emirate of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Judicial Institute. The meeting was attended by H.E. Professor Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts and Vice Chairman of the Board. Board members, including H.E. Counsellor Dr. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, H.E. Counsellor Ahmed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee of Dubai, H.E. Counsellor Abdul-Moneim Salem bin Suwaidan, Lawyer, and H.E. Judge Dr. Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi, Director General of the Dubai Judicial Institute, participated in this meeting. The meeting included the ratification of the minutes of the previous Board meeting (Meeting No. 2 of 2025) and reviewed the Institute's Annual Report for 2024. The report underscores DJI's commitment to implementing global best practices in judicial training and its ongoing efforts to reinforce Dubai's position as a global beacon of justice and judicial excellence. The meeting also addressed future partnership projects with legal and training entities, highlighting the importance of expanding collaborative efforts to strengthen DJI's presence and its impact. The Board also discussed the new training programs that the Institute plans to launch, most notably the 'Judicial and Legal Studies Program for Judicial Trainees – Criminal Track,' which is designed to cultivate and advance the professional competencies of national talent for future roles in criminal judiciary. The meeting concluded with a review and emphasis on DJI's continuous efforts to enhance its strategies and training programs in alignment with future judicial and legal requirements. These efforts fortify the Institute's position as a leading judicial training and a distinguished legal knowledge development hub. Notably, DJI has been officially accredited as a certified training entity by the National Qualifications Center under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dubai Culture and Dubai Judicial Institute Partner to Advance Legal Knowledge Exchange

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Judicial Institute to broaden cooperation in judicial and legislative areas. This agreement reflects both organisations' dedication to deepening public literacy around legal principles and cultural awareness, underpinning Dubai's innovation-driven economy and shaping the emirate's future development. The MoU was inked at the Etihad Museum in the presence of HE Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, and HE Judge Dr Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi, Director General of Dubai Judicial Institute, along with officials from both organisations. The agreement establishes channels to share institutional expertise, best practices, and legal insights via specialised training workshops, seminars, conferences, and forums. It covers collaboration on annual programmes and events, exchange visits and co-authored publications, and reciprocal access to books, reports, and periodicals. Both parties will also work together on research outputs, enhancing their collections while engaging audiences more effectively. HE Hala Badri highlighted that Dubai has a unique creative environment and a flexible legislative ecosystem, which has contributed to attracting talent from around the world and making the emirate a true hub for creatives. She underlined the importance of the partnership in improving proficiency in legal matters across the community. She said: 'This MoU is a landmark step in raising awareness within the cultural sector and demonstrates our resolve to exchange best practices and deliver impactful experiences that strengthen proficiency in regulatory requirements for individuals working in the industry. It also contributes to stimulating innovation and encouraging investment in the knowledge economy.
