Summary
Marking the true end of an era,Gunnais officially wrapping up his YSL chapter – and he's getting all of his parting words in now. On his final album under the Young Stoner Life Records label, aptly entitledThe Last Wun, the almost-jaded rapper is not holding back, laying it all out on the table now, for the last time under the YSL umbrella.
The lengthy project spans 25 tracks, complete with a scattered selection of featured to a particular peak of the project, 'at my purest,' withBurna Boyhopping on 'wgft,' Wizkid contributing to 'forever be mine,' Nechie delivering on 'i can't feel my face,' and, finally, Afrobeats iconAsakeadding his flair to 'satisfaction.'

The cover art for the album offers ample insight into the overarching themes of the album; painted by cubist artistDevon Dejardin, Gunna's face is reimaged through Dejardin's 'guardian' figure lens – a concept (or character) coined by the artist that serves as an artistic 'stand-in for the unseen forces, challenges, and internal shifts that shape human experiences.'
It's exactly these throughlines that connect all 25 of the project's parts, rooted in moments of resiliency and returning from hardships even stronger than before.
But as the album closes out – on pre-release single 'him all along' – the rapper reminds us he is far from done. He has more in the tank, and he's just getting started.
