Missing kayaker found in Midway

MIDWAY, Ga. (WSAV) — A missing kayaker was found Sunday morning after a lengthy search for him Saturday. Saturday, emergency services searched for the missing boater in Midway, Georgia. According to Assistant Chief Charles Roney, Liberty County Fire Services, Emergency Medical Personnel and the Liberty County Sheriff's Office attempted to locate a man who was in a canoe stuck in the marsh due to low tide. Roney said deputies in two boats went out to locate the man without any success. The rescue was called off Saturday due to incoming storms in the area. Body of drowning victim recovered from American River in Placer County

OREGON BAR – A body was recovered from the American River in Placer County on Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The Placer County Sheriff's Office said the drowning victim's body was located in the area of Oregon Bar, which is located on the north fork of the river. The victim's identity has not been released at this time. Earlier this month, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said it was upriver searching for a missing kayaker who flipped near the No Hands Bridge near the American River confluence. That person is still unaccounted for.

A man's body has been found floating near the Grays Boat ramp in Sydney 's south. A kayaker spotted the body on Monday morning just before 9am, floating in the water near the boat ramp. The kayaker spotted injuries on the body, including bruising to the knuckles and cuts to the hands and fingers, and immediately alerted police, who recovered the body from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
