Amy Schumer Uses Walker in New Photo After Revealing She Underwent Back Surgery originally appeared on Parade. Amy Schumer is on the mend after back surgery, and in classic Schumer style, she marked the moment with a playful walker-clad update. In an Instagram post Friday, the comedian shared a photo of herself using a walker and explained the reason for her latest trip to the hospital. 'Since my surfing injury back in the day my L5 has been killing me," she wrote. "Today I got a laminectomy! It's a short recovery and when I'm feeling better I will buy a bra!' The post came hours after Schumer had first hinted at the procedure in her Instagram Stories. At the time, she shared a picture from her hospital bed and quipped. 'Overheard post back surgery 'pickle ball keeps this place in business,'" she quipped. While this is the first time she's publicly mentioned her back procedure, Schumer has been candid about her health in recent years. Earlier this year, she opened up about her experience with weight loss medications — saying she struggled on Ozempic but had better results with Mounjaro — and revealed she had been diagnosed with Cushing Syndrome. There's no word yet on when she'll be back to work, but if her posts are any indication, her sense of humor is fully intact. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Amy Schumer Uses Walker in New Photo After Revealing She Underwent Back Surgery first appeared on Parade on Aug 9, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 9, 2025, where it first appeared. 'I have this gene, GDF15, which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy,' Schumer, 44, said on The Howard Stern Show at the time. While the GLP-1 drug helped her reach her weight loss goals by dropping '30 pounds so quick' and she 'looked great,' she shared that the nausea had her unable to 'lift [her] head off the pillow.' Just last month, the Snatched star flaunted her trimmed-down physique while lounging on a boat. For the summer outing, Schumer posed in a black one-piece with white trim.
