Today's NYT Strands Puzzle: Hints, Spangram And Answers For Sunday, August 10th

It's Sunday, which means we all need to preserve our strength. The work week (and/or school week) is just around the corner, so for the love of all that is good and holy, take a rest day! Be lazy. Eat leftovers or takeout. Watch some great TV shows and movies (which you can find in my latest weekend streaming guide) and play some games. Puzzle games, in particular, make for great lazy Sunday activities. In fact, let's do a Strands puzzle right now! Strands is the newest game in the New York Times' stable of puzzle games. It's a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we're given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day's theme. Spoilers ahead. Today's Strands Hints Read on for today's theme and some hints to help you uncover today's words. Today's Theme: A rip-roaring good time Hint: Words we use for celebratory gatherings. Clue: A lot of these are words like 'bash' or 'soiree' and so forth. What Are Today's Strands Answers? Today's spangram is: PARTIES Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: I nabbed SHINDIG first, probably because it's the word I use the most out of this batch. I often describe smaller gatherings of friends as a 'shindig.' I've also been to a HOEDOWN and a JAMBOREE but I think of these more as events than just parties. BLOWOUT I typically associate with sales—a 'blowout sale' on all these appliances, my golly you'll save big! WINGDING I have never used and I'm not even sure I've heard it used. I've never been to a LUAU but I'd like to someday. I've never been to Hawaii! How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook. Priyanka Chopra Jonas Has This 'Mandatory' Weekly Tradition with Husband Nick Jonas and Daughter Malti (Exclusive)

Priyanka Chopra Jonas speaks exclusively to PEOPLE in this week's issue Her favorite weekly tradition, she says, is lazy Sunday morning cuddles with husband Nick Jonas and their daughter Malti Marie 'The biggest luxury in our lives is being able to waste time together,' says the Heads of State starWhen Priyanka Chopra Jonas is speaking to PEOPLE about her new movie Heads of State, it happens to be early on a day she maintains a sacred weekly tradition. 'Sunday morning snuggles in bed,' the actress-activist, 42, tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. 'They have to happen. It's mandatory.' Luckily, despite working on a Sunday, Chopra Jonas 'did get snuggles,' she says, with her husband Nick Jonas and their 3-year-old daughter Malti Marie. 'Seven a.m., but we got 'em in.' When she's asked what brings her peace the most, Chopra Jonas doesn't hesitate: 'Being home with my family. … The biggest luxury in our lives is being able to waste time together or spend time together and just be languid in it and not worry about having to go somewhere.' Wasting time, she adds, is considered one of her guilty pleasures. 'That one hour you might get when it's quiet in the house and you get to watch Love Island's new season with a glass of wine or maybe even a book [when] I am supposed to be reading my scripts.' What other traditions does the Jonas household enjoy? When she and her husband and any guests are finishing a late-night movie, she says, 'I do scavenge the fridge at night. I am that person … a big snacker.' She continues, 'I want to make sure I get the snack scavenging in while everyone's distracted with the movie because you can't do it after. If you do it after, there's too much attention on you: 'What are you eating?' And then everybody wants to eat and it becomes a meal and then I'm heating up food. You've got to sneak out during a really important part of the movie. So that's what I do.' In Heads of State, Chopra Jonas plays a kick-ass MI6 agent opposite John Cena as the U.S. president and Idris Elba as the U.K. prime minister. The Ilya Naishuller–directed action-comedy, costarring Jack Quaid, Sarah Niles, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root and Carla Gugino, is now streaming on Prime Video. Read the original article on People
