Ontario Provincial Police and EMS responded to the crash shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Canada Day. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. 'The vehicle was towed and impounded,' authorities added in their news release. Under provincial legislation, any vehicles involved in impaired driving offences are impounded for a minimum of seven days at the owner's expense. The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Haileybury on Aug. 5.

Windsor teen clocked driving 100 km/h over speed limit on Highway 3, OPP say

Ontario Provincial Police say an officer clocked a Windsor teenager driving 180 km/h in an 80 km/h posted speed zone in Tecumseh. They say it happened on Highway 3 near Malden Road around 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police say there were more passengers in the car than there were seatbelts, and that the driver didn't have all of the necessary driving paperwork. The 17-year-old from Windsor faces a handful of charges and had their license suspended and vehicle impounded.
