Saturday Lotto results: Winners come forward to claim $2.2million prize
Two long-time workmates from Queensland are celebrating a life-changing windfall after discovering they were among the lucky winners in the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto draw, pocketing $2.2million. The duo, who have worked side-by-side for over two decades, were one of nine division one winning entries. 'Thank you very much, It's life-changing for the both of us,' one of the winners said. The pair, who have a long-standing tradition of splitting Lotto tickets, were stunned by the result. 'We've been working together for 20 years, and we always go halves in a ticket together. We never expected to actually win division one,' they sad. 'I called my mate while he was at work, and he checked the ticket on his phone. He didn't believe it at all - he probably thought it was a prank.' The disbelief extended to family members as well. 'He has since told his wife who didn't believe the news at all,' the winner added. 'We've both been over the moon – waiting for your phone call all weekend.' As for their plans, both winners are prioritizing financial freedom and a well-earned break. 'I'll pay off the mortgage and go on a holiday for a couple of weeks,' the winner said. 'Not too sure on the destination, but now I've got a little bit of spare cash, I can go a lot further. My mate will also pay off his mortgage and help his family.' The winning ticket was purchased at Birkdale News & Lotto, located in Birkdale Fair Shopping Centre on Birkdale Road. The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4583 were 6, 24, 10, 42, 1 and 30, with supplementary numbers 18 and 16. Meanwhile, a newsagency in northern Tasmania is celebrating a remarkable stroke of luck after selling two of the nine division one winning tickets in Saturday's TattsLotto draw. One of the winning entries belonged to a 12-person syndicate, while the other was a solo ticket that remains unclaimed, leaving a mystery millionaire somewhere in Tasmania. Sourav Kumar, owner of Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto, said he was thrilled for the winners. 'We're very excited. I just came back from Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto after decorating the store with balloons and posters,' Mr Kumar said. 'We really hope our mystery division one winner checks their ticket and comes forward soon.' 'We have customers who never miss purchasing a ticket in our long-running syndicate, but anyone could be one of the winners! The latest postcode lottery winners in Wales as two areas win big
People living in 24 streets in Wales have landed cash windfalls over the course of the last 30 days thanks to the People's Postcode Lottery and two groups of residents in particular have a huge reason to celebrate. While postcode lottery players in 17 different areas banked a cool £1,000 each there was a particularly special reason to celebrate for those living on CF38 2RE in Llantwit Fardre after receiving cheques for a whopping £33,333 each on May 31. And life was even sweeter for 11 neighbours living in SA1 6XS in Swansea, who won £90,909 each on Saturday, May 10. Among them was mum-of-three Gemma Archer who suffered a serious injury on Easter Sunday while roller-skating and required major surgery. Within 24 hours her life was changed for the better when she won a share the prize. She said: "I was in hospital having an operation and the very next day I've won over £90,000. I'm still in shock. I couldn't breathe. It's life-changing. I just really, really wasn't expecting it. It's really strange as it doesn't happen to people like me. "For the first time in two and half weeks there is no pain right now. The adrenaline and everything have just kicked in. I'm in a world of my own." Click here to read more. It was a particularly lucky month for Swansea with six separate streets banking cash. Players pay £12 per month to enter the £1,000 daily draw and there's also a weekly draw on a Thursday that awards £10 each to players in 1,000 postcodes. One third of the price of every ticket bought is donated to charity. People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery which raises money for charities. Players win cash prizes and good causes receive support. Players sign up with their postcode and pay £12 per month. They are then automatically entered into every draw and prizes are announced every day of the month. A total of 33% of the ticket price goes to charities. A Sydney mum won a $6.4million Saturday Lotto prize after her son bought her a ticket. The woman, from Castle Hill, held the only division one winning entry nationally in Saturday Lotto and can look forward to $6,427,770.04. She revealed her son purchased the winning ticket through his online account after she couldn't make it to the news agency before the draw closed. 'My mum actually asked me to buy the ticket because she couldn't make it to the newsagency,' her son said. 'She'll be very glad she didn't miss out on a ticket - this will be life-changing for her, my hands won't stop shaking. 'I'm not sure how she'll use her prize. I'm sure she'll have a good think about it, and we'll try and get together for a celebration.' The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto were 13, 36, 5, 37, 33 and 35, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 10.

Michigan man thought eyes were playing tricks on him, wins $300K scratch-off jackpot
A Lapeer County man says he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him after winning a $300,000 jackpot playing the Michigan Lottery's 20X Wild Time instant game. The 58-year-old player, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at the Village Station, located at 4680 Water Street in Columbiaville, Michigan. "I always play the 20X Wild Time game because I like that I can scan the non-winning tickets for a second chance," said the player in a news release. "I bought a few of these tickets and scratched them late at night. When I saw I had won $300,000, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, so I handed it to my wife and asked her to scan it on the Lottery app. "When $300,000 came up on the screen, I jumped up and started shouting! Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep that night. Winning is life-changing and will allow us to live debt-free." With his winnings, the man plans to take a trip and live debt-free. Since the game launched in April 2024, players have won more than $35 million playing 20X Wild Time. Each $5 ticket gives players the chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $300,000. The Michigan Lottery says more than $10 million in prizes remain up for grabs, including 12 $2,500 prizes.
