Human remains found in Plumas County, investigation underway
( — Human remains have been found in a remote area of Plumas County on Friday morning.
According to the Plumas County Sheriff's Office, a report was received from a private logging company regarding the possibility of discovering human remains in a remote area northeast of Cromberg.
PCSO stated that two detectives went to the location, and when they arrived, investigators confirmed that the remains found at the scene were human.
An identification is not currently possible due to 'the advancement stage of decomposition and the condition of the remains,' said PCSO.
A further forensic examination that includes DNA analysis and other investigative methods will be required before anything gets confirmed, according to PCSO.

At this time, the investigation remains active, and PCSO will be working with forensic experts to receive information. PCSO stated that if anyone has any information relating to this case is asked to reach out at 530-283-6363.
