Woman dies after medical episode at Total Fitness gym after paramedics pull her from swimming pool
A woman has died after suffering a 'medical episode' at a gym in Preston. Police and paramedics rushed to Total Fitness on West Strand at around 5.30pm on Monday, June 2, following reports of a 'sudden death'. Lancashire Constabulary said the woman, believed to be in her 60s, had 'been pulled from the swimming pool' following a suspected medical episode. Despite the best efforts of staff emergency services, she sadly died at the scene. The gym was closed last night for investigation works to be carried out. Police said the woman's death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner. A police spokesperson said: 'We were called by the ambulance service at shortly after 5.30pm yesterday following a sudden death at Total Fitness, West Strand, Preston. 'A woman, believed to be in her 60s, had been pulled from the swimming pool following a suspected medical episode. Despite the best efforts of staff and medical teams the woman sadly died at the scene. 'Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this time. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be passed to HM Coroner in due course.'

Police investigate after teen's death at funfair
Police are investigating the death of a 16-year-old boy who suffered a "medical episode" at Barry Island Pleasure Park. South Wales Police said officers were trying to "ascertain the full circumstances" of the boy's death. The force was called to the park in the Vale of Glamorgan on Friday at about 17:00 BST. It said: "Anyone who was in Barry Island Pleasure Park around the time of the incident that may have information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact us."

"I've got to commend my colleague Rebecca as well for how she handled the call. She made sure that Ayaan was OK and reassured him throughout that help was quickly on its way."
