Glee star roasted over shock new accent: 'It's giving Hilaria Baldwin'
has raised eyebrows after seemingly adopting a mid-Atlantic accent, almost two decades after rising to fame as Quinn Fabray on Fox's hit drama, Glee.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, fans of the actress, 39, were struck by how different her voice sounds from her days playing the head cheerleader at William McKinley High School between 2009 to 2015.
In response to the video, many social media users called out her new manner of speaking and likened it to Hilaria Baldwin 's fluctuating Spanish accent.
Although Agron was raised in San Antonio, Texas and Burlingame, California, she now appears to be using a Transatlantic accent, which was popular in early 20th-century Hollywood.
This includes softening her pronunciation of 'r' and strongly inflecting the 't' sound.

'So glad the comment section is all on the same page. It's like when Madonna turned British,' one wrote under the publication's Instagram.
Another noted: 'She literally just invented a new voice I'm so confused.'
'I'm sorry what in the new accent and voice pitch?!?' a third joked.
A fourth mused that Agron graduated 'from the Hilaria school of acting.'
Others theorized that she may have 'naturally' picked up on her partner Harold Ancart's accent.
The SAG Award winner and Belgian painter, who currently lives and works in New York City, were first romantically linked in 2022.
'It's very normal to form an accent of the place you live! People need to calm down,' one commented.
Another Agron fan leapt to her defense as they wrote: 'When I lived in Chicago I picked up hints of a midwestern accent after 4 years of college there. I didn't realize until I moved back home to California. It's just something that can happen!
Their romance comes two years after finalizing her divorce from Winston Marshall, formerly of Mumford & Sons in 2020.
Last year, Agron also opened up about the rumors of romantic speculation between her and Taylor Swift.
When asked if she was the inspiration for 22, Agron said, 'Me? Oh, if only! That's more because of a friendship than being the inspiration for the song. But I would not be the person to ask about that. I cannot claim that!'
She was also asked about rumors that she was in a romantic relationship with the songstress, responding, 'That is so interesting.'
The 22 liner notes included a few other of Swift's female friends, such as Selena Gomez, Ashley Avignone and Claire Kislinger.
Both Swift and Agron were friends around the time Red was released in 2012, with them both sharing photos from Shirley MacLaine's 78th birthday party, where they both dressed up in costume.
They also shared photos from Agron's own circus-themed birthday bash, which Swift said was, 'the most magical night.'
A few years later, Swift gave Agron a shout-out at the 2014 American Music Awards, when she received the Dick Clark Award for Excellence.
In response to the video, many social media users called out her new manner of speaking and likened it to Hilaria Baldwin 's fluctuating Spanish accent
However, in recent years, Agron and Swift have not been seen together, though the actress did not comment further on her friendship with Swift.
She did open up about her breakthrough role as Quinn Fabray in the hit Fox musical series Glee.
The actress only had a few guest-starring TV roles and small movie roles to her credit when she landed the role on Glee.
'If I see footage of myself from that period, I see my youth and I see the heart and community and family we had with each other,' she said of her time on Glee.
'It's emotional, nostalgic, heartwarming, and career-affirming. That experience opened up so many doors, and I'm so grateful that that's how I learned everything,' she said.
After Glee went off the air in 2015 after six seasons, Agron started focusing her work primarily on the big screen.
She has starred in films such as Tumbledown, The Crash, Novitiate, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Headlock, Berlin, I Love You, Shiva Baby and The Laureate.
Agron most recently started in Acidman, which is currently available on Amazon Prime Video, and the podcast series Narcissa.
The actress can currently be seen in Clock, which debuted on the Hulu streaming service in late April, and she's currently filming the Netflix series The Chosen One.
