Glee star roasted over shock new accent: 'It's giving Hilaria Baldwin'

Daily Mail28-05-2025
has raised eyebrows after seemingly adopting a mid-Atlantic accent, almost two decades after rising to fame as Quinn Fabray on Fox's hit drama, Glee.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, fans of the actress, 39, were struck by how different her voice sounds from her days playing the head cheerleader at William McKinley High School between 2009 to 2015.
In response to the video, many social media users called out her new manner of speaking and likened it to Hilaria Baldwin 's fluctuating Spanish accent.
Although Agron was raised in San Antonio, Texas and Burlingame, California, she now appears to be using a Transatlantic accent, which was popular in early 20th-century Hollywood.
This includes softening her pronunciation of 'r' and strongly inflecting the 't' sound.

'So glad the comment section is all on the same page. It's like when Madonna turned British,' one wrote under the publication's Instagram.
Another noted: 'She literally just invented a new voice I'm so confused.'
'I'm sorry what in the new accent and voice pitch?!?' a third joked.
A fourth mused that Agron graduated 'from the Hilaria school of acting.'
Others theorized that she may have 'naturally' picked up on her partner Harold Ancart's accent.
The SAG Award winner and Belgian painter, who currently lives and works in New York City, were first romantically linked in 2022.
'It's very normal to form an accent of the place you live! People need to calm down,' one commented.
Another Agron fan leapt to her defense as they wrote: 'When I lived in Chicago I picked up hints of a midwestern accent after 4 years of college there. I didn't realize until I moved back home to California. It's just something that can happen!
Their romance comes two years after finalizing her divorce from Winston Marshall, formerly of Mumford & Sons in 2020.
Last year, Agron also opened up about the rumors of romantic speculation between her and Taylor Swift.
When asked if she was the inspiration for 22, Agron said, 'Me? Oh, if only! That's more because of a friendship than being the inspiration for the song. But I would not be the person to ask about that. I cannot claim that!'
She was also asked about rumors that she was in a romantic relationship with the songstress, responding, 'That is so interesting.'
The 22 liner notes included a few other of Swift's female friends, such as Selena Gomez, Ashley Avignone and Claire Kislinger.
Both Swift and Agron were friends around the time Red was released in 2012, with them both sharing photos from Shirley MacLaine's 78th birthday party, where they both dressed up in costume.
They also shared photos from Agron's own circus-themed birthday bash, which Swift said was, 'the most magical night.'
A few years later, Swift gave Agron a shout-out at the 2014 American Music Awards, when she received the Dick Clark Award for Excellence.
In response to the video, many social media users called out her new manner of speaking and likened it to Hilaria Baldwin 's fluctuating Spanish accent
However, in recent years, Agron and Swift have not been seen together, though the actress did not comment further on her friendship with Swift.
She did open up about her breakthrough role as Quinn Fabray in the hit Fox musical series Glee.
The actress only had a few guest-starring TV roles and small movie roles to her credit when she landed the role on Glee.
'If I see footage of myself from that period, I see my youth and I see the heart and community and family we had with each other,' she said of her time on Glee.
'It's emotional, nostalgic, heartwarming, and career-affirming. That experience opened up so many doors, and I'm so grateful that that's how I learned everything,' she said.
After Glee went off the air in 2015 after six seasons, Agron started focusing her work primarily on the big screen.
She has starred in films such as Tumbledown, The Crash, Novitiate, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Headlock, Berlin, I Love You, Shiva Baby and The Laureate.
Agron most recently started in Acidman, which is currently available on Amazon Prime Video, and the podcast series Narcissa.
The actress can currently be seen in Clock, which debuted on the Hulu streaming service in late April, and she's currently filming the Netflix series The Chosen One.

Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond, 56, reveals very simple secret to staying married almost 30 years

Food Network star Ree Drummond has opened up about the secret to her nearly 30-year marriage to Ladd Drummond. The TV personality and her husband, both 56, will celebrate their 29th wedding anniversary in September. In her latest Pioneer Woman blog post, the mother-of-four — whose son's license was just revoked — revealed that the couple's favorite date night activity is a long drive in her pickup truck. 'At the risk of sounding like an old married couple, we love to take drives together,' the redhead beauty shared. She explained, 'There's something about the peace of the pickup. That diesel engine is like background music, and we are focused only on each other. No laptops, devices, TV' such a great time to catch up.' In her latest Pioneer Woman blog post, the mother-of-four revealed that the couple's favorite date night activity is a long drive in her pickup truck About their destination, Ree said, 'Honestly, it's different every time.' She added about their Oklahoma drives, 'Sometimes we stay on the county roads and check on fences or cattle; other times we'll drive east to Pawhuska or west to Ponca City, stopping to get a convenience store Dr Pepper when we get there. 'Other times Ladd will drive into this pasture or that, to show me an area of a creek that I may not have seen before, or — again — to check on a cow or a fence.' The husband and wife are parents to four kids — Alex, 28, Paige, 25, Bryson, 22, and Todd, 21. The star also revealed in her 2020 book, Frontier Follies: Adventures in Marriage and Motherhood in the Middle of Nowhere, that she fostered a son named Jamar in 2018. And they welcomed their first grandchild, Alex's daughter Sofia, in December 2024. Ree said in the blog post written by Kelsey Hurwitz, 'Now that we're empty nesters, it's not like we don't have lots of time alone at home already. 'But there's something about the safety and sanctity of the pickup that sparks the very best conversations.' The TV personality and her husband, both 56, will celebrate their 29th wedding anniversary in September; pictured at their 1996 wedding in a 2020 Instagram post In December, the author gushed about becoming a grandmother in a heartfelt blog post. She announced at the time, 'My sweet little pookie head granddaughter Sofia was born ten days ago, so I thought it would be the perfect time to show you some of my favorite snapshots of the first week-and-a-half of her life.' The proud grandparent even said she considered buying a house in Texas to be close to her daughter and the baby. 'I got to stay in Dallas just long enough to fall hopelessly in love with her, and I would be lying if I said I haven't checked Zillow for houses not only on Alex and Mauricio's street, but also on their block and actually right across the street from their house. 'It's sort of like when I return from a vacation in Vail, Colorado and I start searching for houses to buy in Vail because I just don't want that vacation feeling to end. Well, in this case, it's even more profound: I don't want my time with Sofia ever to end, and though neither "second home" scenario is very likely at all, a girl (and a grandmother) can sure dream,' she penned.

Margot Robbie looks like Britney Spears from her Oops... I Did It Again video with cute schoolgirl braids

Margot Robbie looked very unlike her Barbie character when heading out in the Venice Beach neighborhood of Los Angeles on Friday. The 35-year-old Australian actress was wear all black as she let placed her highlighted hair in French braided pigtails that made her resemble Britney Spears from her Oops... I Did It Again music video. The beauty had on a black Cardigan over a black tank top with black slacks that had a white waistline. She completed her look with a pair of $700 Alaia mesh sandals. The movie star accessorized her ensemble with a black leather Chanel purse with gold chain straps as she added a gold chain link bracelet. This comes after news she is in talks to star in Tim Burton 's Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman remake. The actress is being considered for the lead role in the 66-year-old filmmaker's upcoming movie for Warner Bros and she would also produce the film through her LuckyChap production company, according to The Insneider. The original 1958 classic is a science-fiction horror story which follows a wealthy heiress who grows into a giant after an alien encounter and goes on to take revenge on her cheating husband. It was revealed last year that Burton would direct and produce the remake, with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn writing the script. Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper are also producing with Kai Dolbashian as executive producer. However, Variety reports that Flynn exited the project due to other commitment after writing a first draft of the screenplay and the producing team is currently searching for a new writer. Margot's involvement would depend on the final version of the script. Meanwhile, Margot is set to produce the Ocean's prequel through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner and will also star in the movie alongside her Barbie cast mate Ryan Gosling. While story details are unknown, it was reported the Ocean's prequel would be set in 1960's Europe and would feature Robbie and Gosling as the parents of Danny (George Clooney) and Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock). Austin Powers filmmaker Jay Roach had initially been attached to direct the movie, but Twisters director Lee Isaac Chung is now helming the project. The first Ocean's 11 was released in 1960, and starred five members of the Rat Pack - Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop - as they tried to pull off the ultimate heist in Las Vegas. In 2001, the franchise was rebooted by director Steven Soderbergh, and starred George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. Ocean's Eleven follows the charismatic thief Danny Ocean (Clooney) as he assembles a team of specialists to pull off an audacious heist: robbing three of Las Vegas's biggest casinos in a single night. As the elaborate plan unfolds, slick deception and personal stakes collide in a stylish game of risk and reward. The film was followed by the sequels Ocean's Twelve in 2004 and Ocean's Thirteen in 2007. Then in 2018, the series was continued with the all-female Ocean's 8, which starred Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter. The news comes days after Margot spent the day drinking shots at Wayne Lineker's iconic O Beach club in Ibiza. The self-confessed lover of partying - who previously professed her love for cheesy Clapham nightclub Infernos - jetted off to Ibiza last week. Margot was spotted at the club by its co-owner Tony Truman's daughter Kiki, who he shares with EastEnders star Charlie Brooks. Tony said the star ended up drinking shots with his daughter and the trio were seen beaming in a snap with Tony and Kiki while wearing a brown t-shirt wrap dress, with a red and gold patterned head scarf and aviator sunglasses.
