Aldi Now Has the Trader Joe's Treat Shoppers 'Buy 3 at a Time'
As a huge fan of Trader Joe's, there are certain products I know I'm going to end up buying whenever I visit, such as Hold the Cone, a mini ice cream treat currently offered in four flavors. My favorite is the chocolate chip variety, which features vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips in a chocolate cone with a chocolate shell on top.
These mini cones are a staple in my house, but it looks like there's now a competitor I have to try. A new frozen treat recently appeared in the freezer aisle at Aldi.
It looks delicious—and familiar.
In the last couple of weeks, some eagle-eyed Aldi shoppers have spotted a brand-new freezer find: Sundae Shoppe Tiny Cones. The bite-sized ice cream cones come in three classic flavors, with each variety featuring unique toppings.
These Tiny Cones look similar to the mini ice cream cones at Trader Joe's, which have earned high praise over the years from shoppers. Fans on social media consistently hype Hold the Cone, with multiple shoppers on Reddit claiming that they eat the treat every day.
Or as one Redditor said, "I buy three [boxes] at a time!!!!"
The vanilla cone with vanilla ice cream is topped with chocolate sauce and hazelnut pieces, while the chocolate version has chocolate ice cream, sauce, and flakes. And the third flavor available, strawberry, has strawberry ice cream with strawberry sauce on top. Trader Joe's carries these three flavors, too. However, while some flavors at TJ's come in a chocolate cone, each variety at Aldi features a classic, plain cone.
Although they are small, shoppers on social media are having big reactions to the latest find. One fan on Facebook wrote, "They live up to their name, but a nice little dessert."
Another Aldi shopper on Facebook said, "My kids are going to eat these overnight, they don't stand a chance!' And another fan wrote, "We have these!! So yummy!!"
Whether you're looking for a fun summer dessert or a midnight snack, Aldi's new Tiny Cones are sure to do the trick. Each box includes 12 mini ice cream cones for $3.99, which is the same price as Trader Joe's. However, a box at TJ's only has eight cones.
You might want to head to Aldi soon, though. Like many seasonal Aldi Finds, they won't last long. And if Aldi fans are anything like Trader Joe's fans, shoppers will be buying in bulk.
