Terrorist Attack Texts And Calls Are Fake, Israel Warns
Israel shelter during missile attack An ongoing 'psychological warfare' campaign is ongoing, Israeli authorities warn, aiming to keep citizens away from bomb shelters for fear of terrorist attacks. The calls and texts claimed to originate from IDF's Home Front Command's 'OREFAlert.' 'Officials believe these threats are part of a psychological warfare campaign orchestrated by Iranian or pro-Iranian groups,' reports The Jerusalem Post, 'aiming to sow widespread panic during the ongoing military campaign against Iran.' Unlike other call and text attacks now surging around the world, these are pure disinformation — there are no dangerous phishing or malware links. The intent is to trick recipients into ignoring usual government advice as Iranian attacks continue. These malicious calls and texts come as the cyber dimension to the ongoing conflict escalates. Cybersecurity firm Radware has warned it's part of a wider campaign, with 'a dramatic 700% increase in cyberattacks targeting Israel in the two days following June 12, coinciding with the commencement of Israel's military strikes on Iran.' Fake incoming call. Per Ynet News, 'officials stress calls are fake and part of a coordinated effort to spread misinformation; they urge the public not to follow any instructions provided in the calls or click on the links mentioned.' It reports that 'messages told recipients to 'prepare for an emergency,' sometimes 'directing them to visit a website for further instructions.' Echoing more benign warnings from U.S. law enforcement and major technology companies, Israel's Home Front Command warns 'it does not contact citizens by phone with emergency instructions unless the individual initiated contact.' The Post says 'since Operation Rising Lion began last Friday, cybersecurity firm Check Point has reported over 2,000 threatening emails targeting Israeli institutions, including universities, local municipalities, and healthcare organizations. Messages included threats such as, 'Prepare for bitter death, dig your graves'."

Israel-Iran conflict enters fourth day with no signs of letting up
Israel and Iran have traded fresh fire. The Israeli military said it struck more than 20 targets in Iran overnight, including some nuclear facilities. Meanwhile, Iran has hit Israel with a barrage of missiles, some penetrating the country's Iron Dome defence system. Mr Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, also gave an update on the situation at Iran's nuclear facilities that were targeted by Israel. He said there was no sign of further damage at the Natanz enrichment site, but strikes had destroyed the above-ground section as well as power supply leading to the enrichment plant. Trent Murray reports from Tel Aviv.

Israel rescuers say eight dead, over 130 wounded after Iran strikes
Waves of overnight Iranian strikes on Israel killed at least eight people, including children, according to emergency services, after air raid sirens sent millions across the country scrambling into shelters. In the central region, at least four people, including a 10-year-old boy, were killed and around 100 others wounded in a rocket strike, according to a spokesperson for Magen David Adom (MDA). In Shfela region, another 37 people were wounded, the spokesperson added. The Israel Police confirmed in a post on X that a strike along the central coast in Tel Aviv district killed several people and wounded dozens more. After an earlier strike destroyed a three-story building in Israel's Western Galilee region late Saturday, MDA said three women were killed. "Two women were rescued without signs of life, and their deaths were pronounced at the scene," the emergency service said in a statement. A third woman died at the hospital, it said. Emergency services said an Iranian missile hit a home in the Haifa region on Saturday, killing a woman in her 20s and wounding 14 others. An MDA spokesman told Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 that around 200 people were wounded in overnight missile strikes fired by Iran. On Saturday night, Israel said it was simultaneously working to intercept a barrage of missiles fired from Iran while also carrying out strikes on Tehran. AFP
