RCB fever grips Bengaluru: Car wrapped in nimbu-mirchi goes viral ahead of IPL 2025 final
As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) prepares for its much-anticipated face-off against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 final at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday night, fans have taken their hopes—and superstitions—to the next level.
In a video that is now viral on social media, a silver car covered entirely in mirchi (green chillies) and nimbu (lemons) has been spotted on the streets of Bengaluru. These traditional Indian symbols, believed to ward off the nazar (evil eye), have turned the vehicle into a makeshift shrine for RCB's title dreams. Parked in a busy neighbourhood, the car is drawing in crowds, with passersby clicking photos and shooting videos, adding to the electric atmosphere leading up to the final.
The clip, shared by user @mufaddal_vohra on X, has already amassed over 82.6K views. His caption read, 'A car wrapped in nimbu and mirchi spotted in Bangalore to protect RCB from nazar ahead of the IPL Final.'

Social media users had a field day reacting to the bizarre but endearing gesture. One user joked, 'Even science bows to superstition when RCB plays! Will nimbu-mirchi finally break the curse? Can belief boost performance, or is hard work still the real charm?' Another quipped, 'Come on RCB, even the traffic is praying for you now!' And in a cheeky twist, a third remarked, 'Car wrapped in nimbu and mirchi spotted in Bangalore to protect RCB from nazar ahead of the IPL final… but final win PBKS.'
The nimbu-mirchi car is just one of many fan-fuelled efforts to manifest an RCB win. Earlier this week, a video of fans conducting a havan at a temple went viral, while in Nepal, a couple offered prayers for RCB during their wedding ceremony. From devotion to drama, the #RCBArmy is pulling out all the stops.
Adding to the hype, Canadian rapper Drake recently revealed he placed a staggering $750,000 (roughly ₹6.41 crore) bet on RCB to win the title via crypto-betting platform Stake. With odds of 1.75, a win would fetch him more than $1.3 million. Drake captioned his Instagram story with the iconic fan chant 'Ee Sala Cup Namde'—cementing his place among RCB's global believers.
This final could mark a historic moment for either team, as both RCB and PBKS are chasing their first-ever IPL title. While RCB booked their spot in the final with a dominant victory over PBKS in Qualifier 1, both sides are evenly matched, with 18 wins apiece from their 36 encounters.
