Lebanon's President Aoun casts his vote in his hometown
President Joseph Aoun cast his vote in his hometown of Aaichiyeh to elect a mukhtar, following the uncontested win of the municipal council. "After 40 years of protecting elections, today, for the first time, I came to vote—and my vote is for the development of the village," Aoun said in a brief statement.

Baalbek-Hermel governor extends deadline for mukhtar election nominations
Baalbek-Hermel Governor Bachir Khodr issued a decision extending the deadline for submitting new nomination applications for mukhtar councils in villages and towns of the Baalbek district that are not divided into neighborhoods and where the number of candidates remains below the required threshold. The extension does not apply to Ain Bourday, Bednayel, Sefri, and Majdaloun towns. The new nominations deadline is midnight on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Interior Ministry receives 405 complaints amid voting, majority from Akkar and Tripoli
The Lebanese Interior Ministry has recorded a total of 405 complaints during the ongoing municipal and mukhtar elections. Among them, 331 were administrative, 42 were security-related, and 32 were submitted through media outlets and social media platforms. The highest number of complaints came from Akkar district, accounting for 43% of the total, followed by Tripoli with 29%.

Candidate registration closes for municipal and mukhtar elections in Tyre district
Candidate registration for municipal and mukhtar elections in the Tyre district has officially closed. The final tally shows a total of 449 candidates running for municipal council seats and 249 candidates running for mukhtar positions. Additionally, five individuals have registered as candidates for member mukhtar roles in the district.
