The Dallas Cowboys' offense will have something new from QB Dak Prescott in 2025

The Dallas Cowboys' offense will have something new from QB Dak Prescott in 2025 "Yeaaahhhh... here we gooooo!" For the last two years, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has made his snap cadence famous, shouting those four words prior to getting the snap. Game observers either loved it (mostly Cowboys fans) or hated it (most non-Cowboys fans). The good news for the haters is Prescott's cadence is going away for the upcoming season. New head coach Brian Schottenheimer delivered the surprising news during his press conference for the team's second week of OTAs that the pre-snap chatter is gone. Prescott and the offense will now have a new cadence before starting each play. The phrase was made popular by Prescott during his MVP-caliber 2023 season, who explained it's true meaning that year. It was a cadence so beloved in area, the local hockey team, the Dallas Stars, adopted it before each power play during home games. However, if it was a good luck saying in 2023, the moniker didn't fare as well with the QB, or the team, last year. A 12-5 season two years ago turned a disaster in 2024, where Prescott had a 3-5 record before his hamstring injury forced him to miss the remainder of the season. It's unclear whether it was Schottenheimer, Prescott or new offensive coordinator Klayton Adams' decision, but it makes sense to make the change. The Cowboys will have a new offense with wrinkles to implement, and using the same cadence no longer fits. It was time for something fresh. The NFL is also a league that catches onto things quickly and perhaps the other 31 teams picked up on something in Prescott that gave away when the snap was coming. There's a new regime in Dallas and they're going in a different direction with the offense, which includes the pre-snap cadence. No matter the reasons, 'here we gooooo' is now gone, baby, gone. Cowboys fans can't wait to hear what Prescott's new cadence will be, and maybe this one will catch on as well. Before it goes away, for your listening pleasure, here's a chance to listen to some more 'yeaaaahhhh here we gooooo's:' Follow Cowboys Wire on Facebook to join in on the conversation with fellow fans!

Cowboys Get U2 Comparison in Whiny Colin Cowherd Rant

The Dallas Cowboys are - and always will be - "America's Team". As much as any pundit or social media troll wants to believe they aren't, the NFL believes they are just as much. Following the release of every team's schedule for the 2025 season, fans noticed the Cowboys will have eight primetime games - which include both major holidays. Advertisement Of course, most non-Cowboys fans aren't happy about it as they claim the Cowboys have been better in their marketing efforts than the actual football product in recent decades. Even without the playoff success, the Cowboys continue to be the engine that drives the NFL's TV dominance in the United States. And it will probably always be this way, so a lot of primetime Cowboys games shouldn't be a surprise. The animated radio host Colin Cowherd is the latest to chime in on the schedule, voicing his displeasure with Dallas receiving this much attention each season. First he ripped on the Cowboys vs. the Eagles season opener in Philadelphia, saying "I don't need to see that game." Advertisement He must've forgot it is one of the most storied rivalries in sports, and one that now features the reigning Super Bowl champions - AKA an obvious excitement game pinned to begin kick-off weekend. Then, he called out Dallas' Thanksgiving matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs by claiming it "doesn't scream fascinating." Really? We expect, as long as both teams are healthy and competitive, that the game will feature as much star power - and viewership to match - as ever before on a nationally televised game. Oh, but he couldn't stop there. Cowherd compared the Cowboys to the infamous U2 album that was pre-downloaded and un-deletable on all iPhones circa 2014 ... the one you "didn't want it" and "couldn't get rid of it." Advertisement "That's what I feel about the Cowboys." He added: "The only thing keeping the Cowboys TV numbers up is networks putting them on and the NFL putting them on more." Want to know why? Because it works. Colin Cowherd And The CowboysTony Fisher The NFL is the most profitable league in the world and knows how to draw eyeballs. Year after year, and week after week, Cowboys games receive as much viewership from their worldwide following as they do from those like Colin Cowherd who claim they are unwatchable, but can't seem to turn away. Maybe Cowherd would realize this phenomenon if he stopped talking about the Cowboys - and clipping "hot-take" social media snippets that beg for attention (see below) - and watched his own numbers go down.
