(This story has been updated to reflect the latest information).
COLUMBIA — The South Carolina women's basketball schedule for the 2025-26 season will open against Grand Canyon University on Nov. 3 in Colonial Life Arena.
According to game contracts obtained by The Greenville News via open records requests, the Gamecocks will play in Phoenix as part of a home-and-home series with GCU in 2027.
The full schedule for coach Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks is now set, as The Greenville News also obtained four other non-conference game contracts - Clemson, Winthrop, Queens and Coppin State.
GCU is coached by Winston Gandy, who was Dawn Staley's assistant coach at South Carolina from 2023-25. His new job was announced March 24 and he stayed with the program until after the national championship loss on April 6.
Times and TV channels will be announced later.
The SEC schedule was announced on Aug. 5, highlighted by a Saturday game against LSU and former guard MiLaysia Fulwiley who transferred to the Tigers in April. Staley gained the nation's leading scorer Ta'Niya Latson and 6-foot-6 center Madina Okot in the transfer portal.
Last year, the Gamecocks opened the season with a neutral site game in Las Vegas against Michigan.
