In a candid revelation, OAFF recalled the track's unusual origin: 'About 2 years ago, Savera and I were in a secluded spot in Goa for a songwriting camp. I was really craving a cup of matcha, but it was raining so we couldn't step out or order in. Out of that moment of frustration, we ended up creating this track just as a playful distraction—it wasn't meant to be released. But over time, it stuck with us, and our friends loved it too."

Savera echoed the sentiment, highlighting the track's effortless charm: 'There was no overthinking in writing Matcha. And that's what the song represents. It's a feel-good, easy-going song—lighthearted, groovy, and perfect for days when you just want to slow down."

To mark the release of 'Matcha', the duo hosted an intimate teaser launch party in Mumbai. More than 50 lucky fans got a first listen to the track, participated in a matcha-blending workshop, and took home custom matcha kits. The evening also featured an impromptu live performance by OAFF and Savera—an experience that perfectly mirrored the casual joy that birthed the song.
