MP CM Yadav visits BEML plant, hands over land for new unit in Raisen district

Bengaluru, May 14 (UNI) In a significant push towards indigenous industrial development, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday handed over a formal letter allocating 60.063 hectares of land to Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) for the establishment of a new rolling stock manufacturing unit at Umeria in Raisen district. The announcement was made during CM Yadav's visit to the BEML facility in Bengaluru, where he also flagged off the 2,100th metro coach manufactured by the company. The coach, destined for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) via Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), features driverless Unattended Train Operation (UTO) capability and complies with the Grade of Automation 4 (GoA4) standards. Speaking to reporters, CM Yadav highlighted the importance of self-reliance in technology, saying, "We often look towards foreign countries, but efforts like these within India are what truly drive the nation forward.." Yadav added that he was informed of BEML's key contributions to missile systems like BrahMos, underlining the company's strategic importance beyond metro infrastructure. BEML Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy received the land allotment letter, expressing optimism about the unit's potential to expand the company's capabilities and contribute to local employment and industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh. This marked Yadav's second visit to Bengaluru since taking office, signalling his intent to forge strong inter-state industrial collaborations and accelerate investment in manufacturing and defence production sectors. Yadav also participated in 'Invest in MP' session aimed at boosting industrial investment in the state. He presented MP's industrial strengths and policies to top investors and held one-on-one meetings with key players in sectors like IT, defence, and manufacturing. UNI BDN RN
