With the graduation of Isaac and Jacob Zietz (General McLane) the District 10 offensive player of the year is wide open this fall. The twins were named the D-10 offensive players of the year last fall after record-breaking years. Who will step up and win the award this season? There are plenty of options around District 10 and here are 11 choices for the preseason player of the year. The poll is below with the choices and will run until Thursday night. Ethan Engelmore, Sharon – The quarterback threw for 1,618 yards and 19 touchdowns to just four interceptions last fall. He also ran for six touchdowns for the Tigers. Juelz Johnson, Farrell – The senior running back ran for 1,745 yards and 24 touchdowns last fall. He also had 23 catches for 259 yards and two touchdowns. Vinnie Feliciano, Mercyhurst Prep – The junior had a breakout sophomore season to lead District 10 in rushing. He had more than 2,400 yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground. Kelvin Morrison, Hickory – Another Division I running back in Mercer County, Morrison ran for 1,422 yards and 21 touchdowns and had eight catches for 245 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore. Brett Kania, Cambridge Springs – As a junior, Kania ran for 1,543 yards and 14 touchdowns and he had nine catches for 99 yards and one TD for the Blue Devils. Xavier Zachrich, Reynolds – The quarterback threw for 592 yards and six touchdowns while also rushing for 550 yards and seven touchdowns despite battling injuries last year. Jared Corwin, General McLane – The Navy recruit had 48 catches for 611 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior. Justin Schell, Greenville – The speedy wide receiver caught 40 passes for 879 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore. Davin Friedman, Cathedral Prep – The quarterback threw for 1,323 yards and 18 touchdowns despite battling injuries throughout the season. Blake Cook, Corry – Cook had a big junior season as a wide receiver with 38 catches for 584 yards and 11 touchdowns. Paul Johnson, Erie – The quarterback was the backup last year at Erie High.
