Palestine Thanks Morocco for Constant Support for Sovereignty Cause
Rabat – Palestine has renewed its appreciation for Morocco's constant support for its legitimate cause for sovereignty. Palestinian Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faresin Aghabekian Shaheen conveyed Palestine's gratitude on Tuesday, thanking King Mohammed VI for his efforts in support of the Palestinian cause and the implementation of the two-state solution. She made her remarks during a press briefing on the sidelines of the 5th meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which was held in Morocco's capital of Rabat, noting that the holding of the event is part of Morocco's sustained efforts to make the State of Palestine a tangible reality. 'We place great hopes on this kind of meeting,' the minister said, recalling the current delicate and dire situation as the Israeli Occupation Forces' wage a genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza. She emphasized that the gathering is likely to contribute to efforts aimed at making the two-state solution a reality and enriching the work of the upcoming high-level conference on the two state solution that will take place at the UN headquarters in New York in June. On Saturday, King Mohammed VI delivered a strong speech that Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita read at the Arab League Summit, conveying Morocco's unwavering support for the establishment of a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital. The monarch also condemned IOF's continued aggressions, calling for an immediate ceasefire through the revival of a dialogue to end the situation. The monarch specifically called for an urgent intervention to put an end to the 'Israeli military aggressions against the West Bank, particularly the demolition of homes and the forced displacement of peaceful, unarmed populations living in areas under Israeli security control.' Bourita on Tuesday reiterated the same position, at the International Coalition meeting in Rabat, noting that Morocco strongly believes the two-state solution is the only path to peace between Palestinians and Israelis. Bourita said the two-state solution is the 'only option where no one loses,' explaining that Palestinians would gain their freedom and dignity, while Israelis would get safety and stability, and the entire region would have a better chance at development and peace. Despite international uproar, IOF continues their atrocious genocidal attacks, targeting unarmed Palestinians amid an already fragile situation marked by famine and spread of diseases. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, medical sources in Gaza reported the death of 52 citizens as a result of new Israeli airstrikes just this morning. IOF's genocidal war killed at least 53,573 Palestinians, the majority of whom were children and women, and has injured at least 121,688. 'This is a preliminary toll, as a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams,' Wafa reported. Tags: Morocco and Palestine

Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, Spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdelatty delivered the opening speech, where he emphasized Egypt's full commitment to implementing the two-state solution. Abdelatty highlighted the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian state encompassing the entire Palestinian national territory, including both the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Minister Abdelatty stressed that this is the only viable solution to achieve peace and security for all peoples in the region. He also praised the Saudi initiative in launching the coalition and expressed the importance of joint cooperation for its successful implementation. Moreover, he commended the United States for its role in reaching the ceasefire agreement, underlining its importance in maintaining the sustainability of the agreement and its implementation in all three stages. The Egyptian Minister also reaffirmed Egypt's firm stance against any displacement of Palestinians from their land, a position supported by the Arab world and the wider international community. He pointed out that such actions violate international law and UN resolutions and pose a threat to regional stability. Furthermore, the Foreign Minister addressed the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling for an early recovery process to ensure that Palestinians remain on their land while Gaza is rebuilt within a clear and specific time frame. He also mentioned Egypt's efforts to develop a comprehensive, multi-stage plan for Gaza's early recovery and reconstruction. Minister Abdelatty stressed the vital role of UNRWA in addressing the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories, recognizing its extensive experience as indispensable and irreplaceable. He reiterated Egypt's strong opposition to any alternative to UNRWA and condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of two laws aimed at obstructing its operations. He emphasized that Israel, as the occupying power, must fulfill its obligations under the United Nations Charter and international law. Mr. Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, expressed his gratitude to Egypt for its support, emphasizing the importance of continuing this role to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire and the implementation of the agreement in all three stages. He highlighted the crucial role played by UNRWA in providing essential services to the Palestinian people, discussed the obstacles it faces from the Israeli authorities, and stressed the urgent need for food aid and a coordinated response to address immediate humanitarian needs. Ms. Sigrid Kaag, Senior United Nations Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza and UN Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, commended Egypt's pivotal role in securing the ceasefire agreement in cooperation with Qatar and the United States. She expressed her hope to solidify the agreement and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
