With highs hitting 30 degrees this past week, the warm spell has drawn large crowds to the seaside, eager to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand. From families building sandcastles to traders serving up cool drinks and snacks, it has been a lively week by the coast — and a welcome boost for local businesses. Speaking about the busy period he said: 'It's been a good summer so far because it's been so dry - it's probably one of the best summers since Covid. 'There's three weeks left of the summer holidays so hopefully it stays sunny and dry for the next three weeks!' He said: 'I grew up coming to the promenade as a youngster it's the promise land, isn't it? There's good weather and who doesn't want strawberries in the sun?'
