Train disruption warning as damage halts several Glasgow services
Train passengers have been warned of major disruption this morning after overhead wire damage in Glasgow's Hyndland area brought services to a halt.
ScotRail issued an alert confirming that trains are currently unable to run through the area into the city centre, affecting routes that pass through Partick, Glasgow Central, and Glasgow Queen Street low-level stations.
The issue was discovered early this morning July 17, prompting an urgent response.

In a statement, ScotRail said: "We've been advised there is some overhead line damage in the Hyndland area, meaning we're currently unable to operate trains here.
"Network Rail is on site carrying out inspections. We'll provide a further update as soon as we have more info."
Network Rail Scotland confirmed that engineers are en route to assess the extent of the damage and determine the necessary repairs.

It is not yet clear what caused the issue or how long the disruption may last.

They added: "We're dealing with overhead wire damage near Hyndland that's disrupting all services through Partick and Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street low-levels.

ScotRail has urged passengers to check for live service updates via its app, website, or social media channels.

Following the issue, ScotRail has announced that rail tickets will be accepted on Glasgow's subway.
This is for services between St Enoch, Buchanan Street and Partick, in both directions.
They said: "We have arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on SPT subway services between St Enoch, Buchanan Street and Partick, in both directions."
