Man accused of trying to kill Rotherham pedestrian with car
A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a crash which left a pedestrian with "life-altering" victim, aged 48, was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition after the incident on Fitzwilliam Road, Rotherham, at 16:40 BST on Chroback, of Bawtry Road, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court earlier charged with attempted murder in connection with the Yorkshire Police said the injured man "was found with serious injuries believed to have been caused by a vehicle". The force appealed for CCTV or dashcam footage from the Eastwood area, specifically relating to a blue Skoda and grey VW Golf.A 45-year-old man, who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been bailed pending further investigation.A 25-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further Chroback is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court for a plea hearing on 25 June. Cannes: Falling Palm Tree Injures Pedestrian, Closing Down Section of Croisette
A pedestrian was reportedly seriously injured near the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday after strong winds blew down a palm tree. A section of the walkway along the Croisette, the main boulevard that runs through the seaside resort, was closed as emergency workers cleared debris. The accident occurred near the Mademoiselle Gray Plage Barriere beach, a venue where many parties and events are held during the festival.
