How New York Jets LB Jamien Sherwood earned a second pay day this week
How New York Jets LB Jamien Sherwood earned a second pay day this week It's a good week to be New York Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood. Prior to the start of the NFL's 2025 free agency period, the Jets managed to lock Sherwood into an extension. Following his breakout year, Sherwood landed a three-year deal in New York worth $45 million. For his efforts in that big campaign in 2024, Sherwood is now earning a second check. Sherwood has been awarded $1.092M through the NFL's performance-based pay program. Not only did Sherwood get that nice pay bump, it was largest one given to any player in the league: The performance-based pay program is described on the NFL's website as: "collectively bargained benefit that compensates all players based upon their playing time and salary levels." Sherwood was the lone player from the Jets to earn an added bonus. Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 offseason.
