The snacks are at the ready, and your bank account is the last thing on your now. What if your bank didn't just help you manage your money, but actually enhances those Saturday night rituals, too? Enter Club Lloyds, the current account that gives you access to a whole host of perks to make your day-to-day a little more exciting. Whether it's scoring cinema tickets for the latest Timothée Chalamet blockbuster, enjoying discounts on your morning matcha or dining out for less at top restaurants, Club Lloyds makes life a little sweeter. The hardest part? Choosing which benefit you want to enjoy. But it's not just about the fun stuff, Club Lloyds also works hard for your finances. Sure, banking doesn't have to be boring (with Club Lloyds, it's far from it), but the bonuses of charge-free spending abroad and competitive interest rates aren't to be overlooked, either. Keep reading to discover how Club Lloyds is more than just a bank account. Benefits to keep life brew-tiful Plans that make it out of the group chat are rare, but six cinema tickets for the latest Marvel instalment should do the trick. Or perhaps 25 per cent off at Caffè Nero (cheers, Coffee Club!) will kick it over the line? After all, the gworls do love their iced lattes. There's even discounts on dough balls at PizzaExpress plus many many more restaurants, if a one-year Gourmet Society membership is more your bag. With Club Lloyds, the good life comes to you – and the pals, if you're feeling generous. With Club Lloyds, your balance can actually earn you some extra pocket change. With up to 3 percent interest (AER%) on your balance, you'll start seeing those pennies add up without lifting a finger. That's 1.5 percent interest for those putting away up to £4k and, if you're set to exceed that (go on, chief!), you'll see an extra 1.5 percent interest AER added*. Planning a trip abroad? Great news, Club Lloyds has you covered with zero surcharges on exchange rates across spending, withdrawals and foreign transactions. AKA, your pistachio ice creams and Aperol spritzes are still on the (debit) cards. And, for those trying to get onto the property ladder, preferential savings rates and exclusive mortgage offers will bring that ambitious housing goal oh-so-much closer. Your bank account just became your financial BFF. Deposit the cash, ditch the fee All those lucrative perks we've talking about? You can cash in on them for just £5 a month. But here's the kicker: if you have the means to deposit £2000 a month, that fee gets refunded. Poof. So, whether you're putting your paycheck to good use or saving up for something big (ski trip 2026, incoming), those perks can be yours to enjoy without the £5 nibble off your balance.

Halifax to axe key bank account perk for thousands of customers from TODAY

HALIFAX will axe a key bank account perk for thousands of customers from today. Reward current account holders will no longer be able to add "Extras" to their account or renew an existing offer. 1 These freebies were given to customers who hit certain spending or saving targets. For example, users could get £5 paid into their bank account or a free cinema ticket if they either spend £500 on their debit card each month or hold a balance of over £5,000. But Halifax has plans to close down this service come September and is discontinuing the perks as of today, Tuesday June 17. It comes as part of a shake up of the current account offer, which will see new features added. For example, customers will no longer be charged a fee for using their debit card abroad and also have access to a £100 interest free arranged overdraft. Currently, customers are charged a 2.99% fee when they use their card on holiday or a business trip abroad. It means customers who use their debit card to pay for an item that cost £100 would be charged £2.99. Halifax said it will remove the fee from August 1. Meanwhile, those who meet the requirements will also be allowed to enter into a £100 overdraft and not be charged any interest. Reward customers will be made aware of the changes in July. Fresh wave of bank branches set to close for good in June A spokesperson for Halifax previously told The Sun that "more benefits" would also be launched later in the year. Halifax Rewards customers are charged a £3 monthly fee for using the account. If a customer is not happy with the service they can close their account at any time. OTHER BANKING CHANGES And Halifax is not the only bank which has announced changes for users. Nationwide is cutting rates on 63 of its savings accounts from easy-access ISAs to children's accounts. Meanwhile, Lloyds recently hiked the cost of its Club Lloyds account from £3 to £5. The packaged account provides extra benefits including a Disney plus subscription, cashback rewards, and access to linked savings accounts with preferential interest rates. Elsewhere, the Co-operative Bank will increase the cost of its Everyday Extra package bank account in July. Currently, customers pay a monthly fee of £15, totalling £180 a year. But starting from July 1, this fee will increase to £18 a month—an extra £36 annually. How do I switch bank accounts? SWITCHING bank accounts is a simple process and can usually be done through the Current Account Switch Service (CASS). Dozens of high street banks and building societies are signed up - there's a full list on CASS' website. Under the switching service, swapping banks should take seven working days. You don't have to remember to move direct debits across when moving, as this is done for you. All you have to do is apply for the new account you want, and the new bank will tell your existing one you're moving. There are a few things you can do before switching though, including choosing your switch date and transferring any old bank statements to your new account. You should get in touch with your existing bank for any old statements. When switching current accounts, consider what other perks might come with joining a specific bank or building society. Some banks offer 0% overdrafts up to a certain limit, and others might offer better rates on savings accounts. And some banks offer free travel or mobile phone insurance with their current accounts - but these accounts might come with a monthly fee.

Costco Announces Important Change for Certain Members Starting June 30

Costco is continuously switching things up to stay competitive in warehouse club and wholesale space. Costco opened 1976 under the Price Club name, and in 1983, the first Costco warehouse location opened in Seattle. They even became the first company ever to grow from zero to $3 billion in sales in less than six years. Now, Costco has announced a new perk for select members. The warehouse club has announced that the company will start allowing executive members in the U.S. in their higher-priced membership tier to shop an hour earlier than standard members beginning June 30, according to an email to employees reported by Business Insider. "Our Executive Members are our most loyal members, and we want to reward them for their commitment to Costco," the email stated. Also in that email, Costco said that executive members would start getting a $10 monthly credit for Instacart orders and $150 worth of additional benefits and savings on Costco services. Business Insider reached out to Costco on the matter but didn't receive an immediate response. This isn't the first time Costco has given some perks to executive members. The select group was previously offered extended shopping hours at certain Costco locations, but the perk was phased out, according to Costco Insider. Adding perks such as early entry for Costco members on the executive tier could make it a more attractive option for those who are on the standard level. Costco has also started testing earlier hours at its gas stations for all members and stated during its May earnings call that it's had a good impact on sales. "Costco warehouses carry about 4,000 SKUs (stock keeping units) compared to the 30,000 found at most supermarkets," Costco says on its website. "By carefully choosing products based on quality, price, brand and features, the company can offer the best value to members."Costco Announces Important Change for Certain Members Starting June 30 first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 10, 2025

John Lewis makes major change to its credit card system

John Lewis is reducing perks for its credit card holders, requiring shoppers to spend more to get rewards. Starting in August, customers will earn one point (worth 1p) for every £10 spent outside John Lewis and Waitrose, a decrease from the previous rate of one point per £4 spent. Rewards for spending in John Lewis and Waitrose stores will remain unchanged at five points for every £4 spent. Customers will receive triple points in John Lewis stores and online during August for the next three years to offset the reduced points earned elsewhere. A John Lewis Money spokesperson stated the changes will help maintain market-leading rewards for spending at John Lewis and Waitrose, and enable investment in valued rewards, including a new bonus in August.
