Who will find more post-Steelers success, Jets' Justin Fields or Giants' Russell Wilson?

It's easy to reminisce on what could have been with Justin Fields or Russell Wilson — but the most intriguing question heading into the 2025 season is: who will find more post-Steelers success? Fields will reunite with his former college teammate WR Garrett Wilson, but the Jets suffer from a similar issue the Steelers know all too well — a lack of receiver talent outside of WR1. Besides Wilson, Allen Lazard and Josh Reynolds are the top receiving threats on offense, hardly a recipe for success for a young QB moving to his third NFL team in three years. Wilson doesn't have this issue in the slightest, as while he needs to hold off former Browns QB Jameis Winston and Giants first-round pick QB Jaxson Dart for the starting job, he has a plethora of talented pass catchers to work with — such as Malik Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Darius Slayton. At tight end, Wilson and Fields benefit equally — as both Giants TE Theo Johnson and Jets rookie TE Mason Taylor equally possess raw talent but are unproven. Both the Jets' and Giants' running back rooms may also have a similar impact on the two QBs' success — as the gap between Jets RB Breece Hall and Giants second-year RB Tyrone Tracy is closer than many realize. Ultimately, while Wilson may have the edge at wide receiver, the Jets have a better offensive line in play for Fields. The Giants' O-line was responsible for the second-highest pressure rate in the NFL — which won't do the less-mobile 36-year-old Wilson any favors. Wilson may have an edge when it comes to playing on a more complete offense, but Fields, a more athletic signal-caller, could find tremendous success under HC Aaron Glenn. Who do you think will have more success after their Steel City exit?

Pat Freiermuth wasn't a fan of Najee Harris' Steelers criticism

Pat Freiermuth wasn't a fan of Najee Harris' Steelers criticism Najee Harris' sour grapes with the Pittsburgh Steelers were on full display during his first few media appearances with his new team—the Los Angeles Chargers—and Pat Freiermuth took exception to his close friend's comments. Appearing on The Christian Kuntz Podcast, Freiermuth expressed overall excitement for the next chapter of Harris' career but was less than thrilled with his post-Steelers criticisms: 'It's going to be tough, but I'm happy for [Harris] and his new opportunity. I didn't agree with the way he went out. I called him about it and we talked. Every guy is different.' Freiermuth is, of course, referencing Harris' criticism of the Steelers' training facility and the team's inability to form a consistent offensive identity during his four years in the Steel City. The big Steelers tight end even jokingly offered a challenge to the new Chargers running back ahead of Pittsburgh's 2025 trip to Los Angeles: 'We play L.A. this year. You know he's going to be running hard—but we're going to be hitting him harder.' While Freiermuth and Harris cleared the air, the former Steelers running back will likely have some explaining to do when he lines up across from the Steel City defense this season.

Najee Harris to the Bears? 5 potential landing spots for the veteran RB post-Steelers

Najee Harris to the Bears? 5 potential landing spots for the veteran RB post-Steelers The spearhead of the Pittsburgh Steelers' rushing attack over the past four years has undoubtedly been RB Najee Harris. However, Harris could soon be forced to find a new home if the Steel City opts to look elsewhere in free agency or the draft for a starting running back. His four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons may garner heavy interest on the free-agent market. If Harris' time is up with the Pittsburgh Steelers, here are five potential landing spots. With Nick Chubb's injury history and free agency looming, the Browns could target their AFC North rival's running back, Najee Harris, to restore stability to their once-great backfield. With J.K. Dobbins potentially leaving in free agency, Najee Harris could step in as the Chargers' new lead back in Los Angeles, returning to his roots in California. The Raiders clearly regretted letting Josh Jacobs walk in 2024, cycling through four different starting RBs—Najee Harris would bring much-needed consistency. With Rico Dowdle likely testing free agency and Ezekiel Elliott long gone, Najee Harris could be the missing piece in Dallas' offense alongside Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Jalen Tolbert. Pairing Najee Harris with DeAndre Swift would give Chicago a one-two punch rivaling the Lions' elite duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.

Russell Wilson to the Giants? 5 potential landing spots for veteran QB post-Steelers

Russell Wilson to the Giants? 5 potential landing spots for veteran QB post-Steelers As the 2025 free agency period draws near, the Pittsburgh Steelers have several decisions to make regarding the future of their quarterback room. Russell Wilson may have priced himself out of the Steel City, and with the Steelers having a younger and cheaper option in Fields, 'Mr. Unlimited' may have already played his last snap in Black and Gold. If Fields or another free-agent QB leads the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense in 2025, here are five potential landing spots for Wilson. With Pete Carroll now leading the Raiders, a reunion with Russell Wilson isn't out of the question as Vegas looks for a veteran QB. The Giants need a new quarterback after moving on from Daniel Jones, and Wilson could be a bridge option while they potentially look for their next young signal caller. Will Levis has been nothing short of a disappointment for the Titans. Similar to the Giants, Tennessee could look to Wilson as a short-term starter or potential mentor to a rookie QB. With Sam Darnold likely gone and J.J. McCarthy unproven, Wilson could be a steady presence in Minnesota's offense. McCarthy could also gain from sitting behind Wilson for a season after missing the entirety of his rookie season due to a torn meniscus. The Anthony Richardson experiment may not be panning out in Indianapolis. After removing himself from a Week 8 game to 'catch his breath', it's been downhill for Richardson. Wilson could seize the moment and starting opportunity with the Colts.

Justin Fields to the Browns? 4 potential landing spots for the young QB post-Steelers

Justin Fields to the Browns? 4 potential landing spots for the young QB post-Steelers With the 2025 free agency and legal tampering period only a few weeks away, the Pittsburgh Steelers may be on the brink of losing several key starting-caliber players. One such player, the ever-athletic Justin Fields, could explore starting opportunities elsewhere if the Steelers choose to re-sign Russell Wilson or pursue another free-agent quarterback. Should Fields leave the Steel City, here are five potential landing spots in the 2025 free agency period. New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr's time in New Orleans could be coming to an end, leaving a potential opening for Justin Fields to take over the offense if the Saints are interested. New York Jets Aaron Rodgers time in Gotham is over. With no clear answer at the quarterback position, the New York Jets could look to Justin Fields to lead their offense. Arizona Cardinals If the Cardinals decide their time with QB Kyler Murray is over, they will need a new face at quarterback. Enter Justin Fields, who offers elite athleticism to match their current offense. Cleveland Browns After a second torn Achilles has sidelined Deshaun Watson indefinitely, the Browns could be searching for a reliable starter to stabilize their offense.
