Toronto acquires Seranthony Dominguez in trade with Baltimore Orioles
The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired Seranthony Dominguez from the Baltimore Orioles in a pre-MLB trade deadline deal.
Dominguez, a 30-year-old right-hander, spent his first six seasons in MLB with the Philadelphia Phillies before finishing the 2024 season in Baltimore.
This season, he is 2-3 with a 3.24 earned run average. In 41.2 innings, he has struck out 54 batters and walked 44.

In exchange, Baltimore will receive right-handed pitching prospect Juaron Watts-Brown.
The trade happened between games with the two teams playing a doubleheader in Baltimore. The Orioles smashed the Blue Jays 16-4 in the first game. In the game, the Toronto bullpen was forced to throw 5.1 innings, and during that time allowed 15 hits and 12 runs.
The last time Dominguez pitched was on Sunday against Colorado. In that game, he went a single inning and allowed just a hit. The last time he allowed a run was on July 19 in Tampa Bay.
The loss was the third straight for the first-place Blue Jays. They are now 63-45 on the season. Baltimore is last in the American League with a 49-58 mark.
