Iris Law, Rihanna And Florence Pugh Say Skirt Sets Are Back – Here Are Six To Buy Now

What do Iris Law, Rihanna and Florence Pugh have in common with the late Queen Elizabeth II? On first glance maybe not a lot, but each has a penchant for a two piece skirt set. While the Queen wore hers in bright shades, and loaded with pearls and heritage brooches, there is a new spirit infusing them now to offer up a fresh appeal that It-girls can't resist. FIND OUT MORE AT ELLE COLLECTIVE Consider Iris Law strutting the Crosiette in Cannes this week. She wore a linen two-piece set from Mango, styled with a red halterneck top and sportif sunglasses. It's a world away from what you think of when you imagine how a skirt suit should and would be worn. Here, prim stuffiness was swapped out for a more relaxed approach that, thanks to the coordinating pieces, still remained polished. The way Law allowed the jacket to fall off her shoulders only adding to this laidback feel. Florence Pugh has recently sported a different approach. Her white skirt suit worn during the promo trail for Thunderbolts was an archive Mugler set that boasted the 80s power-shouldered silhouette that defined the decade. However, if any skirt set worn of late has gone viral then it can only be Rihanna's pre-Met Gala Miu Miu look. The musician, mogul, mother wore a matching skirt and top (and socks!) in dove grey. It was a spin on the classic matching top and bottom set. Taken from the brand's AW25 collection, it's the first time that we've seen the collection being worn out and about but it's far from the first skirt set from the brand to have turned heads. Especially since 2022, Miu Miu has been the finest purveyor of the all-new skirt suit look moving from beige coated cotton options through to sporting fabrics. Some come with full pleated skirts and others have straight knee-length skirts, but each always has a matching jacket. While Miu Miu has a hold over this new approach, there's another number of names who are understanding that you can't go wrong with the classic. And what is more of a classic than a Chanel two-piece? Sofia Coppola and Zoey Deutch have both recently called upon the easy polish of a Chanel twin set of late. Choosing a skirt set for yourself makes for a wise investment. They can be worn apart with equal success before being reunited in matchy-matchy harmony. The joy of a skirt suit is primarily in its ease and the fact they speak of a lot more thought than the reality of what pulling them on together requires. When it comes to a wardrobe MVP, you can't really ask for anything more. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. Miley Cyrus drops new song More to Lose

THERE may just be a Miley Cyrus renaissance awakening as the starlet has dropped her new song More to Lose today, offering an intimate glimpse into the emotional landscape of her upcoming album Something Beautiful, slated for release end on May 30. Cyrus's new music was previewed by the lucky audience who attended the exclusive pre-Met Gala event hosted by Casa Cipriani in New York City, US. The song comes after her single End of the World that she dropped earlier last month, with an accompanying music video – in which, she is seen donning a custom Mugler by designer Casey Cadwallader. Read also: Miley Cyrus drops new single End of the World The 33-year-old, who has had back-to-back success after dropping her album Endless Summer Vacation in 2023 and winning her first Grammy for Flowers, the upcoming album invites anticipation and perhaps, a Miley Cyrus revolution. Known for her strong, alto vocals and provocative style, the singer has always been the centre of conversation ever since Cyrus shed her Disney, good girl image with Can't Be Tamed. With the release of Bangerz, the singer made her grand entry into the pop arena, rivalling peers such as Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. While she may be known for being the rebellious Disney kid that turned bad, her poignant song Used to be Young, which was a love letter to herself and the people who once dismissed the artiste as a troubled star, reminded the fraternity and music fans of her raw talent for music. Love her or hate her, Cyrus is arguably one of the best vocalist and artiste to have emerged from the showy hills of Hollywood. More to Lose is available on all streaming platform.

Miley Cyrus not 'chasing perfection' with new single

Miley Cyrus didn't want to "chase perfection" on her new single. The 32-year-old singer dropped 'More to Lose', the second track from her upcoming album 'Something Beautiful', on Friday (09.05.25) and she's explained she was keen to record it in a "singular take" to keep it sounding "meaningful and emotional". In a video interview she shared on her Instagram, she said: 'On a song like 'More to Lose,' I try to keep it a singular take. I add my harmonies, ad-libs at the end, but it's really a song that's more of a story and I never want that to be interrupted or overthought or chasing perfection. 'I never wanted 'More to Lose' to feel perfect, I wanted it to sound meaningful and emotional.' Miley also shared a clip from the video, in which she sang in a long sparkly dress. She captioned the post with the lyrics she sang in the video. She wrote: "I stay, when the ecstacy is far away. I pray, that it's coming round again. You say it, but I wish it wasn't true. I knew someday that one would have to choose, I just thought we had more to lose." Miley performed the song live last weekend at a private pre-Met Gala event in New York City, for which she noted some of her "exes" were in attendance. Speaking to the audience, Miley said: 'I have a lot of people that I've known and loved for a very long time in this room. Even a couple of exes." Miley's exes include ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, plus Cody Simpson, Stella Maxwell, Nick Jonas, Kaitlynn Carter, and Tyler, however, it's not clear who was in the crowd. 'Something Beautiful' - which is a visual album - is set for release on May 30. The film will receive its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival in June. So far, fans have heard the album's title track, 'Prelude', and 'End of the World'. The album will feature 13 new songs, all of which will be accompanied by new visuals that have been described as a "one of a kind pop opera". After releasing the title track 'Something Beautiful', Miley teased that the album marked "another bold artistic evolution" in her career. A statement on her Instagram account read: "Miley's second song and video release 'Something Beautiful', the title track off of the forthcoming album explores her deep connection to fashion showcasing an original custom design by Casey Cadwallader for the House of Mugler in the visual. "This era marks another bold artistic evolution for Miley, blending music and film into an immersive experience. 'Something Beautiful' is now available on all streaming platforms."
