My mum ruined my pregnancy announcement when I tried to do a cute reveal on camera – she even told me to ‘cut it out'
A MUM has come under fire after she ruined her daughter's adorable pregnancy announcement. Letting your closest ones know that the family is about to grow more is always an exciting moment that's about to be cherished forever. 2 2 But while some parents-to-be opt for more intimate reveals, others come up with cute ideas, like one mum Olena Perez recently did. The mum, from the US, decided to share the wonderful news during a family outing in Florida - however, it didn't quite go to plan. In her head, Olena would get a stranger taking a photo of her and her brood with scenic greenery in the background. As everyone would be striking their best poses, she'd then whip out the positive pregnancy test from her purse and surprise the lot - and the happy reactions would be forever saved in a wholesome clip. Sadly for the young mum, the video didn't turn out that way - with the footage going viral on TikTok for all the wrong reasons. In the video, Olena could be seen standing next to her family as she approached the person behind the camera and instructed him to keep filming. As everyone is standing next to each other ready for what they think is a photo, Olena proceeds to stop for a moment and look for a lipstick in her bag. But instead of pulling make-up out of her bag, she whipped out a pregnancy test - which she immediately showed to her mother. Olena's mum appeared to be confused looking at the positive test and even tapped on her arm a few times, as if to tell her daughter to cut it out. ''I'm pregnant,'' Olena explained to her mum and the rest of the family - who seemed just as uninterested as Olena's mother. Mum-of-twins shares what she looked like before & after giving birth and people beg to know if 'Dad kept the receipt' While there were a few cheers, it was certainly not the reaction the mum-to-be was expecting, as she quickly went to grab her phone from the camera guy. ''Oh my God... Thank you.'' She wrote alongside the viral footage: ''Lmaooo, my mum was not letting my pregnancy announcement ruin her photo. ''My mum loves a good pic!'' What's the Deal with Gender Reveals & Why is Everyone Having Them? What Is A Gender Reveal? Gender reveal parties are celebrations where expectant parents announce the sex of their baby in a creative and often dramatic way. These events have gained significant popularity, especially through social media. The trend began in the late 2000s and has since exploded in popularity. The concept was popularised by parents who wanted to share their excitement with family and friends in a memorable and engaging way. Common Methods: Cakes: Cutting a cake filled with either blue or pink filling. Balloons: Popping a balloon to release colored confetti. Smoke Bombs: Releasing colored smoke. Piñatas: Breaking a piñata to reveal colored candies or confetti. Fireworks: Using fireworks to display blue or pink colors. Why Are They So Popular? Social Media Influence: Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube have amplified the trend, with many parents posting videos and photos that go viral. Milestone Celebration: It's an additional way for parents to celebrate a significant milestone during pregnancy. Creativity: These events offer an outlet for parents to be creative and personalize their announcement. Community Sharing: They provide an opportunity to include extended family and friends in the pregnancy journey. Controversies: Safety Concerns: Some gender reveal methods have led to accidents and even wildfires. Environmental Impact: The use of non-biodegradable materials and fireworks can have environmental consequences. Inclusivity: There's growing awareness and sensitivity towards non-binary and transgender identities, leading to criticism that these events can be exclusionary. Despite the controversies, gender reveal parties continue to evolve. Some parents are opting for more eco-friendly and inclusive ways to celebrate, while others are choosing to forgo the tradition altogether. In summary, gender reveals are a modern trend driven by social media, creativity, and the desire to celebrate milestones. However, they also come with their share of controversies, prompting some to reconsider how they choose to share their baby news. 'No offence but what kind of family is this?' Since being posted online, where Olena regularly shares content under the username @ the clip has gone viral, winning her close to 25million views. As 2million people gave it a like, over a whopping 21k flooded to comments where Olena's mum came under fire. One gobsmacked person said: ''I'm glad you're starting your own family….cause I don't know what this is….'' Another wondered: ''No offence but what kind of family is this?'' A third joked: ''they're like this could've been an email.'' ''Everyone seems miserable, girl I'm sorry,'' a TikToker said.

Married At First Sight star Domenica Calarco makes bombshell claims her ex-best friend Ella Ding 'stole' from her - after slamming her sponsored pregnancy post
Domenica Calarco has taken another savage swipe at her ex-best friend Ella Ding, accusing the Married At First Sight star of stealing from her. The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star, 32, also slammed her former podcast co-host, 31, last week for making a sponsored pregnancy announcement. But now it seems their online feud has gone to another level as Domenica alleged Ella and her brother 'stole' something from the former reality TV star. Domenica made the serious accusation—which is unproven—in the comments section of an article about Ella defending herself against recent backlash. The podcaster wrote: 'Nah just pissed cos she needs MORE money after her and her brother stole from me. It's okay, the story is coming.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ella and Domenica for further comment on the matter. It comes after Domenica called out her former best friend Ella for announcing her pregnancy with a sponsored post. Ella took to Instagram last Tuesday morning to announce the exciting news alongside a series of photos including a positive Clearblue pregnancy test. 'Somewhere between healing and hustling, the next chapter quietly chose us,' she captioned her post. 'Baby Palermo you've already made our story sweeter & given us the best news of 2025 yet #ad #ClearblueConfirmed.' The announcement was reposted by the @ Instagram page. Domenica took to the comments section to slam Ella for 'monetising her pregnancy'. 'Even has to monetise her pregnancy announcement. Some people will never change. Wow,' she wrote. Ella's pregnancy was announced two months after Domenica revealed she was expecting her first child. In March, Domenica posted a series of clips showing her positive pregnancy test, her ultrasound and telling her friends and family. She captioned the sweet post: 'Been a little MIA working on my greatest project yet... Baby.' She added: 'Due September 2025 #pregnancyannouncement #pregnancy #pregnant.' Days after her announcement, Domenica exclusively confirmed to Daily Mail Australia she will be raising her child as a single mum, as she addressed the breakup rumours with Bondi skater Jarod Bogunovich. Domenica and Ella pulled the plug on their podcast Sit With Us in August 2024, and rumours have swirled it was due to an interpersonal conflict. On a recent episode of Domenica's new podcast Mad Woman, she explained where the rift with Ella really began. 'The breakdown of our friendship really started when the backlash from Sit With Us happened,' she began, referring to the controversial conversation the podcasters had with MAFS 2024 'villain' Jack Dunkley. The controversy erupted after Domenica and Ella faced criticism for their interview with Jack, who previously sparked outrage by telling co-star Jonathan McCullough to 'muzzle' his wife Lauren Dunn during a dinner party. The interview prompted a heated response from fellow media personality Abbie Chatfield, further intensifying the scrutiny on the podcast hosts at the time. Domenica said she and Ella 'had very differing opinions and views on the way to handle the situation. For me, I wanted to face it head on, I didn't want to bury my head in the sand.' At the time, Domenica's social media posts were inundated with comments from fans asking her to address the podcast controversy. While Domenica chose not to provide a statement during this period, she did assure several fans she and Ella would be responding to the backlash 'very soon'. Domenica and Ella have since unfollowed each other on Instagram, marking the end of their nearly four-year friendship.
