‘It blew my mind when I saw the video of Dad tackling Jonah Lomu'
We were at Farleigh House, stately home and Bath training headquarters when, suddenly, a back row of true world class materialised — due to the coincidence of their daily schedules. Andy Robinson, a great player and great coach, arrived to continue mentoring Bath's emerging players; John Hall, the massive blind-side flanker held in awe by his Bath colleagues of the great years, arrived next — he is president of the club and chairman of Bath Rugby Heritage.
All we needed was a No8 and Steve Ojomoh, also from the great Bath sides of the 1980s, soon joined them. His task for the day was to explain to us the delights and any downers of having a son in the professional game.
