Site of ‘Melbourne's finest brothel' hits market
A Collingwood premises leased to 'Melbourne's finest brothel' is for sale with a $2.5m-$2.7m asking range. The property at 81 Rokeby St was purpose-built as a brothel in 1997. Core Commercial Real Estate's Anthony D'Ambros said the brothel's founder had operated at the address for decades, later with assistance from her daughter. Vic pubs hitting the market amid 'cost of doing business crisis' She has since sold the business to a new owner who has taken out a 20-year lease on the site where Le Boudoir – which bills itself as 'Melbourne's most exclusive boutique style bordello' and 'Melbourne's finest brothel' – is based. The building's freehold is now on the market via expressions of interest. 'The place is beautiful, it has a bathroom in each room and they are beautiful bathrooms,' Mr D'Ambros said. Apart from the six bedrooms and bathrooms, the premises features separate ladies' and gentlemen's lounges, a ladies' powder room, kitchen and laundry facilities. The tenant pays $182,500 per year in rent plus GST and outgoings. Mr D'Ambros said the 108sq m site was located near Smith St's residential, hospitality and retail offerings, meaning it could be of interest to developers. 'You're surrounded by seven-storey-plus buildings, if it were to change tomorrow and be empty land, it would have development potential,' he added. 'I understand you could build up to 10 storeys there, subject to council approval.' He is also managing a separate marketing campaign for another building leased to a brothel in Melbourne's northern suburbs. The double-storey site at 3 Fleet St, Somerton, counts Studio Honeys as its longstanding tenant. Set on a 896sq m block, it features in-room spas, an introduction room, reception area, staff dressing rooms, a break area, kitchen, laundry and office, plus 16 car spaces. The address is for sale with $1.8m-$2m price hopes, while the tenant pays a yearly $130,000 in rent including GST. Mr D'Ambros said that mostly investors have been contacting him about the two properties. 'For Collingwood I am getting a lot of interstate calls and it has been more local calls for Somerton,' he said. 'They have both been good tenants and it is the world's oldest profession.' He noted that buildings where licensed brothels were based could often make for good 'set and forget' investments which returned a 6 to 7 per cent yield to their owners. And both listings have been popular online. 'The amount of online hits I've had is crazy, about 80,000 for each one since they've been on the market,' Mr D'Ambros said.

Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Made a Big Decision About Their House, Says ‘Source'
Former spouses Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck continue to be in the limelight even after they officially parted ways in January. Irrespective of the split, the duo continues to make important decisions together, especially regarding the sale of their Beverly Hills home. Now, a latest update, as per a source, suggests that the ex-spouses have decided to take the mansion off the market. As per PEOPLE's source, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have taken their Beverly Hills house off the market after failing to find a buyer for a year. In June 2024, the news outlet reported that the ex-couple tried to sell the mansion off the market for privacy. The following month, Lopez and Affleck listed the mansion for sale at an asking price of $68 million. However, they were unsuccessful in finding a buyer for 10 months. As a result, the two stars decreased the asking price by $8 million. This brought the price of the property from $68 million to $59.9 million. Nevertheless, Lopez and Affleck failed to find a buyer for their house for a year and have now taken it off the market. PEOPLE's source stated, 'While they've been hoping to sell the property, they've also been hesitant to take a big loss.' The individual added that the ex-couple 'lowered the price to get more interest,' but when that did not happen, 'they were advised to take it off the market.' The insider said, 'It was a business decision that they made together.' A real estate source also commented on this situation, stating, 'It's a rough sellers market and especially for that price point. Taking it off the market until it's more of a seller friendly climate, seems like the smartest decision.' As of now, the public real estate records show the removal of the sale from the market. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck purchased the estate in May 2023 for $60.8 million. After listing the estate, the 'Accountant' actor bought a new house for himself in Los Angeles for $20.5 million. Meanwhile, Lopez reportedly purchased a new house near the city for almost $18 million. Originally reported by Ritika Singh on Reality Tea. Woman claims she can't sell her Bedok Reservoir HDB flat due to neighbour's clutter
SINGAPORE: Disputes between neighbours are not uncommon in space-scarce Singapore, but usually, these involve noise or other everyday issues. It escalates to another level, however, when one resident is unable to sell their unit allegedly because of their neighbour's behaviour. This appears to be the problem confronting a woman who lives at Bedok Reservoir View, according to a recent report in Shin Min Daily News. Her neighbour has so much clutter in the common areas that property agents have declined to help sell the woman's flat until the neighbour's stuff is cleared away. The 50-year-old woman told the Chinese-language daily that she's been living at Bedok Reservoir View with her family since 2009. Her neighbour moved in before she did and was already collecting various items at the time, but back then, these were kept inside his flat. Recently, however, he began to store items in the hallway, which ended up obstructing the common walkway. Photos posted in Shin Min Daily News show large items, including bicycles and TV or computer monitors. According to the woman, the man takes home items that people living nearby have discarded and then puts them in the riser or corridor. When she tried to talk him out of this in the past, he grew upset and raised his voice at her. However, she's not the only person who has attempted to raise the problem with the authorities — other residents have also complained about the clutter. This resulted in warnings being issued to the neighbour, but the woman said he cleared up the clutter after getting the warnings, and then began hoarding again. Additionally, since he thought that it was she who complained, he began to target her and her family. This is why they decided to move out, but when they contacted a property agent to help sell the flat, the agent said they would not do so until the neighbour's clutter was cleared up, as the mess would discourage those who would otherwise want to buy the unit. The woman then decided to file an official complaint with the town council, which resulted in the man being told to clear the corridor within a week. The neighbour's treatment of the woman worsened, however, as he allegedly harassed her in several ways, including recording her unit on his phone. He also wrote these threatening words on the warning posted by the town council: 'I am hunting you.' A photo of this was included in the Shin Min Daily News report. She also said that he spray-painted offensive words outside her door, which the town council had to paint over. /TISG Read also: 'It's like their storage unit' — Woman asks what can be done about neighbour who clutters the entrance corridor of their HDB unit

Ex-senator Helen Kroger, Bob Hawke chief of staff Graham Evans sell
Political heavyweights including former Victorian Liberal Party president and senator Helen Kroger and Bob Hawke's chief of staff Graham Evans are in the midst of real estate moves. It was second-time lucky for Ms Kroger who sold her Hawthorn home for $2.488m recently, after an earlier attempt in spring last year. Holding off helped score a better result for the Australian senator who held office from 2008-2014, who had the three-bedroom, two-bathroom property listed for $2.2m-$2.4m last year. Marshall White's Nicholas Franzmann took over the listing from another agency earlier this year and said the property's size, single-level design, access to transport and a renovation had been key for the young couple and a professional who contested it. While he declined to comment on the vendor, Mr Franzmann said the sale had demonstrated growing buyer confidence. 'We certainly have better connections with people since the two rate drops, so while a few 0.25 per cents is not life changing, it does send a positive message,' he said. Meanwhile, Mr Evans who had a distinguished, 27-year career in the public service that included time as the secretary for the Department of Transport as well as for Department of Primary Industries and Energy, as well as a three-year stint as Mr Hawke's chief of staff. But he said his proudest achievement, which also earned him the accolade of Officer of the order of Australia, was his work in micro-economic reform especially in transport and communications — ultimately paving the way for digital radio and TV as well as for mobile phones to reach their ubiquitous use today. The former public servant is selling the Port Fairy home he's used as a regional base for 17 years. While the local golf links have convinced friends and family to join him and his partner on visits to the property over the years, it's also a convenient walk to most of the towns key features — and neighbours regularly use their private jetties for kayaking and fishing trips. Mr Evans said after growing up in Colac they had bought the Gipps St home in 2008 with past holidays to the coastal town in mind, but had come to love regular music festivals and town events. 'People probably see it as holiday place with a lot of those sort of attractions, but having lived there for a while there are a lot of things that make it a great place,' he said. He said the water views from the spacious living zones of the ground level as well as two of the bedrooms upstairs were a constant hallmark of the home's relaxed lifestyle. Charles Stewart's Penny Adamson said the home was one of only a handful in the town with a lawn stretching all the way to the water and its own jetty. Its relative rarity, open-plan lay out, 575sq m allotment and a build by locally renowned Mick Hearn have enticed interest from buyers including Melburnians looking to relocate, locals looking to downsize, and farmers looking for a town residence. It is listed for sale at $2.8m.
