Police seeking suspect vehicle in QEII semi collision

Ponoka RCMP are seeking a suspect vehicle described as a black or blue Toyota Highlander that was involved in a collision on the QEII. (Handout) Ponoka RCMP are seeking a blue or black Toyota Highlander that was involved in a semi trailer crash on the QEII Highway on May 29. Police say they received a report of a collision with two semi trailers at 2:07 p.m. Thursday about 38 kilometres south of Leduc. Investigation by RCMP revealed that the collision occurred as a result of a vehicle parked partially in the driving lane under the overpass on the QEII and Township Road 455. The suspect vehicle left the scene after the collision. RCMP are asking for public assistance in identifying the vehicle or for dashcam footage of southbound Highway 2, just north of the Bear Hills Casino from 1:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. on May 29. Information about the vehicle can be shared with Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4471 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Saint John police searching for suspects involved in two assaults

Two suspects who were believed to be involved in two assaults in Saint John, N.B., on April 12 are pictured. Saint John Police Force is seeking public assistance to identify two suspects who allegedly committed two assaults on April 12. Three males were walking west on Lansdowne Avenue around 9:40 p.m. when one of them tried to smash the window of a parked vehicle, according to a news release from the Saint John Police Force. When the owner of the vehicle confronted the suspect, police say they were assaulted by two of the males. At 10:25 p.m. the same night, two males matching the description of suspects from the prior incident allegedly assaulted another person at a bus stop near a restaurant in the 400 block of Main Street North and demanded money and property. The victim fled on foot. Police have not been able to identify the suspects who pulled up their hoods during the second assault, but they released the following descriptions: Suspect 1: Short Caucasian male, wearing beige pants, white sneakers, black hooded sweater and a black baseball hat with a small white logo on the front. Suspect 2: Thin Caucasian male, taller than suspect number 1, blond hair pulled into a short ponytail with hair on the sides of the head cut short, grey plaid jacket with black hood, dark pants, dark footwear. Investigators are asking witnesses or anyone with surveillance or dashcam footage of either assault to contact police at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they wish to remain anonymous. Police say four or five masked men rammed a stolen pickup through the store's front entrance in the 1700 block of Bank Street shortly before 2:30 p.m. A 'quantity' of jewelry was stolen, police say. The suspects then fled the area in a silver SUV. There were no injuries and an investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been announced. Investigators are asking anyone in the area around 2:25 to 2:45 p.m. to check their dashcam or surveillance camera footage. ( — Two children who were reported missing from Northern California were found Friday evening, according to the Chico Police Department. On Thursday, CPD asked for the public's assistance to find a 9-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy who were reported as missing. Both boys were considered at risk because of their ages and need for medications. Police said the boys went missing from the area of W. East Avenue and Alamo Avenue in Chico. Yuba County deputies seize 20 pounds of meth, 10 illegal guns The next day, on Friday, the California Highway Patrol found the missing boys in Natomas. It is unclear how they ended up in the Sacramento area. However, they were safe, and a suspect was arrested in connection with their disappearance, according to CPD.
