Swindon: Burst water pipe closes school and hits many homes
A burst water pipe has led to a Wiltshire school being closed and left hundreds of homes without water or with low water Water said the issue was affecting people in the SN4, SN5 and SN15 postcodes around Royal Wootton Bassett and Wootton Bassett Academy said it had closed "for the day" as the burst pipe was affecting water pressure and the tanks that the school used for school said it was an expecting an update from Thames Water in the afternoon. Thames Water said workers had "controlled the flow of water" from the burst pipe by 09:45 BST and a specialist repair team were on their way.

Oughtibridge supply cut as water gushes from burst pipe

Closure of Louise Bridge extended
A Winnipeg bridge will remain closed longer than originally planned, according to the city. The Louise Bridge shut down on Friday and was expected to open yesterday. However, the bridge is still closed, and information on the city's website notes it will stay closed until June 1. A spokesperson for the city said during a bridge inspection crews found 'some accelerated corrosion.' 'We are inspecting additional locations this week and developing a plan to repair the affected areas. Repairs to signals at the south end of the bridge are also underway and will be completed this week during the bridge closure,' they said. The closure impacts both directions of the bridge as well as the west and east side sidewalks.
