3rd Edmonton-area collision reporting centre slated to open next year

A new Edmonton-area collision reporting centre is expected to open next year.
The centre in Sherwood Park is slated to open in the spring at 911 Bison Way, next to the Strathcona County RCMP headquarters.
Edmonton has hosted two collision reporting centres, on the north and south sides, for the last three years in partnership with city police.
Stephanie Greening, Accident Support Services International's operations manager for Western Canada, said the centres free up police officers and support staff for other work.
'If you have five-to-10-to-15 officers taking these collision reports right now, wouldn't you rather see those officers have availability out on the streets, doing investigations for major crimes?' Greening told CTV News Edmonton on Friday.
A Calgary-area collision reporting centre, in Airdrie, is scheduled to open next month.
