The Vancouver Canucks are making aggressive moves ahead of the NHL Draft, and their latest target is Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi. According to insider Patrick Johnston of The Vancouver Province, the Canucks have already proposed a trade package that includes their top-15 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, along with an unnamed player, in exchange for the 23-year-old center.

Marco Rossi, who is entering restricted free agency, is reportedly aiming for a deal in the same ballpark as teammate Matt Boldy's $49 million contract. That expectation has pushed the Wild to explore trade options rather than risk a prolonged negotiation with one of their top young talents.
Vancouver isn't the only team in the mix for Rossi. The Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, and Nashville Predators are also said to be monitoring the situation closely.
With the young forward nearing the end of his three-year entry-level contract, and the Wild's cap space tightening, the trade buzz around Rossi is heating up quickly.
Originally drafted ninth overall in 2020, Rossi has developed into a consistent contributor for Minnesota. In four seasons with the Wild, he has tallied 101 points, including 45 goals and 56 assists, across 185 games. This postseason, he notched three points (two goals and one assist) in six games before Minnesota was eliminated by the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round.
