NHL Trade Rumors: Canucks eye Marco Rossi in bold trade offer including 2025 top-15 pick
The Vancouver Canucks are aggressively pursuing Minnesota Wild forward Marco Ross (Imagn Images)
The Vancouver Canucks are making aggressive moves ahead of the NHL Draft, and their latest target is Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi. According to insider Patrick Johnston of The Vancouver Province, the Canucks have already proposed a trade package that includes their top-15 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, along with an unnamed player, in exchange for the 23-year-old center.
Vancouver joins race for Wild's rising star as Marco Rossi seeks major extension this offseason
Marco Rossi, who is entering restricted free agency, is reportedly aiming for a deal in the same ballpark as teammate Matt Boldy's $49 million contract. That expectation has pushed the Wild to explore trade options rather than risk a prolonged negotiation with one of their top young talents.
Vancouver isn't the only team in the mix for Rossi. The Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, and Nashville Predators are also said to be monitoring the situation closely.
With the young forward nearing the end of his three-year entry-level contract, and the Wild's cap space tightening, the trade buzz around Rossi is heating up quickly.
Originally drafted ninth overall in 2020, Rossi has developed into a consistent contributor for Minnesota. In four seasons with the Wild, he has tallied 101 points, including 45 goals and 56 assists, across 185 games. This postseason, he notched three points (two goals and one assist) in six games before Minnesota was eliminated by the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round.

's trade value rising as
Mitch Marner
's future impacts right-wing market
In a related storyline, Canucks winger Brock Boeser is also generating significant attention as the right-wing market tightens. 'Boeser's future could be linked to Mitch Marner,' said insider Rick Dhaliwal. 'Marner's the prize catch on the free agent market. The right wing market after Marner and Boeser is very small.'
Dhaliwal added that teams like Ottawa, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Boston are closely watching Boeser's situation. The 28-year-old had a productive 2024-25 season, finishing with 25 goals and 25 assists in 75 games.

IND vs ENG: Sanjay Manjrekar roasts Virat Kohli during commentary; video goes viral
Sanjay Manjrekar and Virat Kohli (Agency Photo) NEW DELHI: Day 1 of the India vs England Test at Headingley was all about Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill 's brilliance with the bat, but it also included a moment that stirred up fans online, a veiled dig at Virat Kohli by former cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar . While praising KL Rahul and Jaiswal's shot selection and patience outside the off-stump, Manjrekar made a seemingly innocuous remark that quickly turned viral. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'So a lot of what you're seeing is being created by these two batters. And my hat, there's another example of it we know of. A former batter would have gone after that delivery and got himself into trouble, but not these two. And that's why I believe,' he said on-air. Social media users were quick to interpret the comment as a swipe at Virat Kohli, who has often struggled with off-stump discipline in recent years, especially during the India-Australia Tests. Kohli's tendency to chase deliveries outside off has been a known weakness, and it appears Manjrekar subtly referenced that pattern. The comment comes just weeks after Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket in May, ending a 14-year-long red-ball career that saw him score 9,230 runs in 123 matches, including 27 centuries. Despite his achievements, Kohli's final phase in Tests was marked by a string of dismissals edging to the slips. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, watches in awe as Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrates century Meanwhile, on the field, India's new-look batting order flourished. Gill, in his debut match as Test captain, led from the front with a composed 127 not out and joined legends like Gavaskar and Kohli in scoring a century in his first Test as skipper. Jaiswal's fluent 101 further solidified India's dominant position, with the team finishing at a commanding 359/3. Though Kohli may have exited the Test scene, his presence and criticism continues to echo, even subtly, in commentary boxes. Manjrekar's remark may not have named him, but fans heard it loud and clear. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. Watch Episode 1 here

Insider reveals Connor McDavid's next step could surprisingly be tied to Lauren Kyle's luxury ventures
Insider reveals Connor McDavid's next step could surprisingly be tied to Lauren Kyle's luxury ventures (Image via Getty) Connor McDavid's future with the Edmonton Oilers has been the center of many talks after the team's Stanley Cup loss. But now, a new reason is coming up, one that has nothing to do with hockey stats. It's personal, and it might be powerful enough to change everything. It's about his wife, Lauren Kyle, and her growing business life in Edmonton. Connor McDavid's future may depend on wife Lauren Kyle's growing ventures in Edmonton On June 20, 2025, NHL insider Chris Johnston shared a fresh update on The Chris Johnston Show about Connor McDavid's situation. According to Johnston, one big reason why Connor McDavid may stay with the Oilers is because of his wife Lauren Kyle's success as a businesswoman in Edmonton. 'She's an entrepreneur,' J ohnston said on the show. 'She just opened a bar in Edmonton and has a lot of different ventures.' He said that Connor McDavid is signed for an eleventh season, having lived in Edmonton for ten years. The idea here is that the couple has created a life together in the city. And now with Lauren Kyle supporting nearby companies, the roots appear to be deepening. However, Johnston also gave a small warning. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Forget Furosemide, Use This Household Item To Help Drain Edema Fluid WellnessGuide Learn more Undo 'They have to give him a reason to stay,' he said, pointing to how the team must continue building a winning roster to keep their star captain interested. McDavid's close bond with teammate Leon Draisaitl could also be a big factor. Draisaitl, who is also his best friend, has just started his new eight-year contract with the team. That long-term deal could be another reason for McDavid to remain. Connor McDavid may choose a short-term contract to keep pressure on the Oilers While many expect Connor McDavid to sign a long deal, Johnston suggested something different. He said a shorter contract like four or five years is more likely than the usual eight-year max. Also Read: NHL Rumor: Connor McDavid Trade Buzz Grows As Tampa Bay Lightning Emerges As Surprise Option For Oilers Star 'I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at a short-term deal,' Johnston said. 'Not because he wants to leave, but because it keeps his options open.' The idea is that a shorter deal would remind the Oilers that they must stay competitive. With only one season left on Connor McDavid's current contract, the pressure is now on Edmonton to prove they can win soon or risk losing their captain and star player. Johnston's full remarks can be heard starting at the 3:18 mark of the June 20 episode. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. Watch Episode 1 here
