M&S's new summer collection looks just like designer resortwear - 13 pieces that I predict will sell out fast
After weeks of disruption, Marks & Spencer got its website back up and running just in time to drop its summer campaign. Launching in stores today, the new collection features all your holiday wardrobe essentials, from crochet co-ords and comfortable sandals to flattering swimsuits and floaty two-pieces that are perfect for layering or lounging, be it by the pool, on the beach or in your garden. The collection channels designer resortwear à la Zimmermann and Chloé, with a neutral colour palette (lots of whites, beiges and blacks), the use of different textures (think: crochet, macramé and embroidery) and a whole range of statement accessories and shell-inspired jewellery that looks far more expensive than their high street price tag. From a cream halter dress (£49.50) and floral appliqué clutch bag (£49.50) that could have easily been worn by Leslie Bibb's Kate on the latest series of The White Lotus, to a matching tie-front cami top (£45) and midi skirt (£45), there are a ton of holiday looks to wade through. To make your life easier, I've done the work for you and listed my standout pieces from M&S 's new summer collection below. My advice? Don't hesitate to add your favourites to your basket, as I don't expect them to hang around for too long. LaPointe Resort 2026 Collection
Sally LaPointe has a new office. It's one floor down from where she was a year ago, but the space is vastly different. Not only does it feel like twice the size of her previous headquarters, but the massive floor-to-ceiling windows makes it feel warmer, perhaps symbolizing the start of an even sunnier year for LaPointe, who reports that she's doing well at retail. For resort, the designer wanted to focus on making the things that she and her customers love. 'Pre-collections are always a joy for me. Being able to just zero in on the fashion and deliver things that I know my woman will love is very satisfying,' she said. Many of her favorite statement pieces returned this season but in comfortable versions. New this season was eveningwear in a very luxe and thick jersey that really contours the body. Her color palette—bold turquoise and burgundy with a slight sheen—added to the statement-making effect. LaPointe is known for her sexy designs, but this season there was a wider breadth of styles on offer, including a mini-shift dress with her signature feather trim that was very uptown in style. Similarly, the brand is proving to be a big hit in the Middle East, thanks to her lightweight caftans and capes, which this season she produced in even more colors and variations. LaPointe may have conquered New York City's fashionistas, but the international ones aren't far behind.

Luxury women's swimwear brands to shop in 2025
Choose from one of the trusted brands below, and you can enter the holiday season relaxed, safe in the knowledge that your swimwear will not only look and feel fabulous but it will also go the distance, seeing you through this summer and beyond. • This article contains affiliate links that can earn us revenue Originally named Hunza, this one-size fits all swimwear brand, known for its unique crinkle-stretch fabric and leggy designs, came onto the swimwear scene back in 1984 under the creative direction of Peter Meadows. It was best known as the brand behind Julia Roberts' cut out mini dress in Pretty Woman. Fast forward to 2015 and a relaunch thanks to new director Georgiana Huddart, and Hunza G became a firm fan favourite among women of all sizes as the clever combination of elastane and lycra is created to grow with your body. Designed to feel like a second skin, Eres was founded in 1968 by Irène Leroux and was the first brand to sell swimwear all year-round. The mission from the start was to liberate women who had suffered years of unsupportive padding, constricting boning and unflattering silhouettes in swimwear. While this Australian luxury brand founded by the sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann initiated as a womenswear and accessories brand, it seamlessly extended into swimwear and now offers its feminine ruffles and signature floral designs across swimsuits, bikini and ethereal, boho-inspired resortwear. A fairly recent addition to the luxury swimwear scene, La DoubleJ started its life as a shoppable online magazine in 2015. Inspired by its history of selling vintage clothing and jewellery, the brand, which produces everything from homeware to hats, is obsessed with all things print, pattern and colour. Inspired by her leotard uniform as a former ballerina, Marysia Dobrzanska Reeves founded luxury swimwear brand Marysia in 2009. Beloved for its signature scalloped edge designs and one shoulder silhouettes, each piece is crafted in Italy and hand-cut in a couture factory. While we appreciate Gucci isn't exclusively a swimwear brand, the new playful collection for summer 2025, which features sporty swimming costumes alongside more sultry cut-out silhouettes as well as the iconic double GG monogram plastered across timeless triangle bikinis, was just too good to not include. Embracing the quiet luxury trend is the Australian swimwear brand Matteau which was founded by the sister duo Ilona Hamer and Peta Heinsen in 2015. Defined by its minimalist aesthetic, dedication to simple yet beautiful silhouettes and muted colour palette, you can invest knowing whatever you buy will be truly timeless. London-based swimwear label Away that Day offers some of the softest fabrications on the market across its high-waisted bikini bottoms and sculpting swimsuits. All the collection is crafted by small manufacturers across the UK and Europe to reduce carbon emissions, and the brand is mindful of using recycled materials and recyclable packaging where possible. Designed as a love letter to summer, all of Peony Swim's whimsical and romantic floral prints are hand sketched and designed in-house at the brand's design studio near Queensland, Australia. Showcasing, floaty linens and delicate frills, each collection tries to encapsulate and bottle the feeling of summer.

It's the summer of the fabulous sculptural bag
When we think of summer bags, we tend to think of big totes we can carry to the beach or a farmers market. But this year, bag designers are reimagining the summer staple as a piece of art you can carry around with you. They're taking the seasonal materials we're used to seeing—raffia, straw, wicker—and transforming them into beautiful, interesting shapes. They're meant to do more than hold your phone; they're designed to give you pleasure and start conversations. Here are our favorite sculptural bags of the season. Camilla Clutch Cult Gaia, $298 Cult Gaia first made a name for itself with a half-moon-shaped bamboo Ark bag, which went viral. Since then, even as the label has expanded to include ready-to-wear and fragrances, it is best known for its whimsical statement bags. This summer, it launches many creative designs, including a bag that doubles as a backgammon board, and a clutch in the form of a golden apple. The Camilla clutch is perhaps the one that feels most like summer. Made from abaca, a kind of hemp, it's inspired by a horse conch shell and has a long tassel. It's sure to be a conversation piece when you're at a cocktail or pool party, or even at a beachside wedding. The Cesi Shopper Poolside, $315 As the brand's name suggests, Poolside specializes in summer bags, tailor-made to pair with resortwear. And while it's most famous for its totes —which can be personalized with monograms or witty phrases—it also has many sculptural pieces that look like shells and fish. The Cesi bag stands out for combining beauty and functionality. Made of raffia, with an acrylic tortoise shell chain strap, it's spacious enough to stash your phone and even a small book. It can be dressed up for parties, but it can also carry you through your day. The Leila Basket Sézane, $275 The French label Sézane is famous for its large raffia basket bag, inspired by totes that people carry to the farmers market. But this year, it's added more interesting silhouettes to its collection. If you feel like shell-based bags are a little too on the nose, consider the Leila Basket, which is made of raffia and comes in two shades, natural and red. The delicate flower design gives it a feminine touch, but the bag is also practical, with durable woven handles that can bear some weight. Clamshell Clutch Vineyard Vines, $148 Vineyard Vines's clamshell bag is perhaps the most versatile of the lot. While it's compact, with just enough space for your phone and wallet, you can carry it in several different ways: as a clutch, with a chunky wicker handle, and with the crossbody strap. This flexibility means you can utilize it for many different occasions, from elegant dinner parties to busy days out. Color-Blocked Shopper Eileen Fisher, $168 This design is unlike the others. But in case you're not the kind of person who wants to carry an enormous shell or flower-shaped bag around with you, you might go for this tote, which is designed with clean lines and an interesting silhouette. It's one of Eileen Fisher's new offerings, made in collaboration with Mar y Sol, which makes raffia bags in Madagascar, supporting the work of local artisans. The bags in this collaboration are chic and simple, in keeping with Eileen Fisher's minimalist aesthetic, but they are anything but boring. This one's color-blocked design makes it a standout as it hangs elegantly from your shoulder.
