Earlier, the title was held by Sabrina Carpenter for her viral song Manchild. BLACKPINK's new single also secured a spot at no. 2 on Spotify's Global Daily Chart with 7.028 million streams, just behind Justin Bieber's Daisies from his comeback album Swag, which opened with 8.34 million streams.
