Gold Edges Lower, Weighed by U.S.-EU Trade Agreement
2343 GMT — Gold edges lower in the early Asian session. The U.S.-EU trade agreement announced by President Trump is likely diminishing trade tensions between them, weighing on safe-haven demand for the precious metal. However, losses may be limited, analysts say. Chinese investors' outflows from gold ETFs are nearing levels that have historically marked selling exhaustion, and since then, the pace has already slowed, TD Securities' Daniel Ghali says in a note. Continued central-bank purchases will probably absorb retail outflows from ETFs, the senior commodity strategist adds. Spot gold is 0.1% lower at $3,331.46/oz. (
