WNBA fandom is shifting to a more tribal, toxic atmosphere
NEW YORK — Eulalia Brooks has been going to New York Liberty games since 1997, the WNBA's inaugural season. Through playoff heartbreaks and sparse crowds, she found solace in a community of season ticket holders who maintained a cheerful spirit through the team's — and the league's — darkest days. Then, last season, after nearly three decades, everything clicked.

Reading confirm plans for exciting season ticket holder open day at Bearwood
Reading have confirmed plans for the highly-anticipated season ticket holders open day at Bearwood this summer. With new owner Rob Couhig at the helm, season ticket holders were encouraged to purchase or renew early with the offer a trip to Bearwood for anyone who did so before June 6. Advertisement The state-of-the-art facility has been open since 2019 but has never fully opened for supporters to visit before. However, fans will now have the chance to have a two-hour tour of the home of the men and Academy side on Sunday, July 15. "I think most fans knew we had something special here," Couhig told the club. "There was a little thought of what Rob was going to do with this facility, but I don't think those people understood me at all so I'm going to forgive them for now. "We want them to come out and get the full breadth of being a true Reading football fan. This facility is important and we will plan some special things for the day. It will start early on go on for a long time. People will be invited out in two-hour shifts because we have so many season ticket holders." Advertisement Emails will be sent out accordingly to those eligible, with the date coming in three weeks time. Fixtures for the new season are announced on Wednesday, June 26 and the season gets underway on the first weekend of August.

An 'incredible' stand but is a club's 'soul' at risk?
We asked for your views on a Riverside Stand hospitality section opened by Fulham on Saturday. Here are some of your comments:Anon: It's certainly a spectacle but for most of the regular fans and season ticket holders being able to watch a game from there feels a bit like an improbable fever dream - the ticket prices probably require re-mortgaging the house!Neil: It's a bit like a shopping mall for tourists, with a bit of football for millionaires who can afford the club's outrageous prices (I bet very few of them were season ticket holders in the old Eric Miller stand).Fernando: The stand is incredible and I think it's important to generate revenue streams. However we must also mind the true Fulham supporters, as a season ticket holder on the Riverside it's frustrating to be completely surrounded by tourists more interested in the novelty than the football itself. The club should free more seats for season tickets. Like most clubs in England we are losing the essence and soul of our institutions to greedy owners. We are supporters not I agree that this is a fantastic revenue stream for the club, but how long will it last - £3000 for season tickets is excessive in any sport, especially given this is supposed to be a working man's game. If the stand is full of fans singing the club to victory every week then good luck to them but I do not think it is sustainable. I also think the idea of corporate hospitality in such a small ground destroys the atmosphere needed to inspire the team on the pitch.

Newcastle United set to change club badge after 37 years
Newcastle United are set to change the club badge that has adorned their shirts for 37 years. The club announced on Friday that a consultation process will begin with their supporters to change the badge, which has been on the famous black-and-white shirt since 1988. That consolation period will last for a week, while Newcastle seek opinion from their season ticket holders and club members, although any new design will not be used on the strip next season. 'As our club grows on the global stage, the symbol that represents us needs to be able to keep pace,' an email sent to fans read. 'It needs to show up clearly and confidently across everything, from kits to screens to merchandise. So, we've been asking ourselves:
