Ampol Halted After Report of A$1 Billion Petrol Station Deal
Sydney-listed fuel distributor Ampol Ltd. requested a trading halt amid reports that it is in talks to buy EG Group 's Australian service-station business for more than A$1 billion ($655 million).
The Australian Financial Review, which first reported the potential deal, said talks between the companies had been on and off for more than 12 months. EG owns over 500 outlets across Australia, which Ampol supplies with fuel, according to its website.
