Carlton begins football department revamp by axing Brad Lloyd
The promised shake-up of Carlton's football department has begun with football boss Brad Lloyd set to exit the Blues after seven years in his role. It comes after the club's board backed in coach Michael Voss to continue into 2026 despite a failed campaign this season but promised a review of the football operations. Outgoing Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley has been linked to Carlton in an off-field role to help Voss, with others including Brisbane's Danny Daly possible additions to the Blues' football staff. Lloyd joined Carlton in August 2018 and outlasted two coaches, Brendon Bolton and David Teague. Lloyd worked with Voss since his appointment in 2023 and will see out the remainder of the season before moving on. 'Brad's commitment to see out the final two weeks of the season speaks to his dedication and care for those around him,' new Blues chief executive Graham Wright said. 'He is a great football person, well respected right throughout the industry, and we wish Brad the very best for what the next chapter holds for him. 'The recruitment process for the general manager of football role will commence immediately. While there is no set timeline, we will be sure to update our members once this appointment has been made.' After nearly staging a stunning comeback against the Gold Coast Suns last weekend, Voss said the club's backing was a move towards maturity and the impact would only be proven over time. 'That's a hard one for me to answer, a genuine intangible. Maybe in time we can look back and find out what it meant, but I really hope we're building an environment that's consistent,' he said. 'We understand that there's always things going on around us, always a conversation that's going on around us, but we've got to be mature enough as performers to know what to listen to and what not to. We're trying to normalise that and keep it as consistent as we possibly can. 'Hopefully, as a leader and as a group of coaches we're turning up to be there for our players and keep serving our club. I think it's been that way, and to the players' credit they're bringing energy and getting behind our younger players – as a result, you don't have the season you're after, but you're still walking away with something and with small wins.'

Can new-look Coleraine mount a title challenge?
It has been a whirlwind 12 months for fans, players and staff at club has had a major shake-up in the last year, spearheaded by 24-year-old Henry Ross, who became the majority shareholder in changes followed that announcement with sporting director Oran Kearney and head coach Dean Shiels stepping down in club has also switched to a full-time model; Dale Pryde-MacDonald has been brought in as their new general manager and Ruaidhri Higgins is set for his first full season in charge after being appointed in have been plenty of changes on the pitch in recent months too with a number of impressive new additions including last season's Football Writers' Player of the Year Joel Cooper joining from summer business sees them tipped as title contenders this campaign, but with the Bannsiders without a trophy in the last five years, failing to make Europe in the last four and trying to bed in so many new signings, can they challenge for the Irish Premiership title? 'I have been delighted with everything' This weekend's Premiership opener against Larne is not former Bannsiders player Higgins first game in charge as he was at the helm for their two European play-off games at the end of last overcame Crusaders to advance to the play-off final, but they were then defeated by Cliftonville, who secured the Irish Premiership's final European spot."At the time I wasn't sure about the idea about coming in for those games but, when I look back now, it was very beneficial and invaluable," Higgins told BBC Sport NI."I got to see who we had and what I felt needed to improve both on and off the pitch. Then we were able to bring in some more good players."Higgins has returned to Coleraine, where he made 43 appearances before retiring, after managing Derry City for three players have left the Showgrounds during off-season but they have strengthened with the arrivals of Cooper, Kodi-Lyons Foster, Stephen Fallon, Adam Long, Lewis McGregor, Ryan Schofield and Will has been changes within the coaching staff too with Higgins bringing in experienced Irish League figures Kevin Deery and Michael Dougherty."I've been delighted with everything," the 40-year-old continued."The people around the club have been first class and, off the pitch, people have been brilliant. "The players have been very receptive, very hard working, want to do well and they are showing real hunger." 'This isn't an overnight job' Managers elsewhere also think that Coleraine will be competitive this year with Linfield manager David Healy saying the Bannsiders "should probably be going into the season as favourites" for the league title."If people see us as a threat, that's brilliant as we want to be," Higgins added."We want to be very, very competitive and we want to break into that top bracket of teams. "However, we finished 30 points behind the champions last year, which is a ridiculous number to try and make up. We want to bridge that gap substantially, but we also are realistic."If anyone looks beyond Linfield, it would be quite foolish after how much they dominated last year."The north coast side will be hoping to improve upon a fifth-place finish first and foremost as they have not finished above fifth position since 2021, with Higgins acknowledging that success may not come club's last trophy was the BetMcLean League Cup in 2020, and they have not won the Gibson Cup in over 50 years."If we do something special then great, but this isn't an overnight job," the Limavady native said."We aren't going to just come in and wave a magic wand, sign a few good players and take off. That's not how it works unfortunately, as much as people would like to think that." 'New signings bring an expectation' Coleraine captain Lyndon Kane has been delighted with how Higgins has settled into the club and believes that he brings a "top tier level of professionalism" to the who made his league debut for the Bannsiders in 2014, has made over 300 appearances to date, but missed the end of last season due to injury."It's a full circle for me because I actually played with Higgins 10 years ago here," Kane explained."His attention to detail is unbelievable and he leaves no stone unturned."The defender also believes that the club's signings "bring expectations" but acknowledges the inevitable twists and turns that will come throughout the season."I think signing players like we have, we are going to bring an expectation. We are bringing winners to the club. Joel Cooper won everything there is to win at Linfield."However, there is no divine right that you just turn up and win a league then. You have to graft hard and this league is a league like no other. "It throws up many surprises at you and you can't be having off days. We're just going to work hard day-to-day and just see where takes us."

Major shake up at Jeremy Clarkson's Farmer's Dog pub as Amazon star makes big announcement
JEREMY Clarkson has revealed a major shake-up at his Oxfordshire pub, The Farmer's Dog. The Grand Tour star and his trusted team have been entertaining both fans and locals at the £1million establishment after it opened last year. 3 3 The pub's opening was chronicled on his Prime Video series, Clarkson's Farm, and has since become a huge success alongside his Diddly Squat Farm shop. However, the TV host has now confirmed a shake-up is set to hit the boozer as he revealed that changes at the business were afoot. In a new move, the pub will now be closed on Mondays and no longer serving customers. Confirming the decision to close up at the start of the week, Jezza's pub's Instagram account shared: "We are giving our team Mondays to spend some well-deserved time recharging - we will be open Tuesday to Sunday in both the pub and the Grand Tour tent." Alongside the announcement was a team photo of the workers helping to provide the impeccable service that fans have come to know and love at the establishment. One fan shared a memory of visiting the pub in the comments, writing: "Having visited the pub and people watched while sipping a Hawestone, this is a super resilient and hard working team…it looks relentless, all day everyday." Jeremy's main reason behind opening the pub was that he wanted everything to come from British farms within a certain radius, so don't expect to see any Heinz ketchup on offer. Instead, visitors to the pub can treat themselves to the steak pie, ham hock terrine, rhubarb crumble, and a wide range of other menu items, all knowing that it has come from local farmers. Since the pub opened, it has been extremely busy, and after the show aired, its popularity has soared. Clarkson bought the pub — previously called The Windmill — in 2023 after offering the owner £1million for it minutes after meeting her. I don't want folk going veggie due to farming crisis, rages Jeremy Clarkson - so my pub will serve pig uterus & squirrel It is close to Diddly Squat Farm, which he bought in 2008. Clarkson's Farm series guide By Conor O'Brien, TV Reporter Clarkson's Farm airs on Prime Video and follows TV personality Jeremy Clarkson as he manages his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds. Three series have been released to date and here is an overview of what has happened so far. Series 1 Jeremy takes over the day-to-day running of the newly renamed Diddly Squat Farm. Lisa Hogan, Kaleb Cooper, "Cheerful Charlie" Ireland and Gerald Cooper are also introduced. Jeremy starts to assemble what he needs for his farm - as well as laying the groundwork for things to come later. He buys key equipment including a tractor and cultivator, as well as taking on sheep and opening a farm shop. Jeremy takes over the day-to-day running of the newly renamed Diddly Squat Farm. Series 2 This series sees Jeremy look for ways to increase the farm's revenue. One such example is bringing in a herd of cows although this isn't without its issues. Jeremy also had the idea to convert the abandoned lambing barn into a restaurant where he could sell his meat from the farm. For this plan to move forward, he had to get planning permission from the local council. Viewers also meet Pepper, a heifer among the herd who ultimately becomes the star's favourite. Series 3 The third series contained some of the show's most emotional moments to date. In heartbreaking scenes, dozens of newborn piglets died as a result of overlaying - their mother rolling on to them. Jeremy said goodbye to his favourite pig - the Baroness - after she developed cancer and needed to be put down. Dry stonewall expert and "head of security" Gerald Cooper was diagnosed with cancer. Jeremy and Kaleb began a competition between themselves - with Kaleb looking after the arable side and Jeremy taking the non-arable elements. Fellow farmers - and famous faces - Andy Cato and George Lamb appear in this series 3
