Carnival Cruise Line is adding to its growing list of cruise cancellations caused by changes to its schedule for routine dry dock maintenance and refurbishment that cruise ships undergo every few years. Earlier this year, the cruise line cancelled multiple spring 2026 cruises due to revised dry dock plans, and now more cruises are being impacted by additional schedule adjustments. These latest changes come shortly after the cruise line was forced to cancel one Carnival Liberty cruise at the last minute due to a shipyard workers' strike in Cadiz, Spain that delayed the completion of the ship's maintenance work. Now, as the newly refreshed Carnival Liberty sets sail again, Carnival has announced the cancellation of five cruises planned for early 2027 on another one of its ships. Carnival Cruise Line cancels five cruises on Carnival Breeze Another change to the schedule for Carnival cruise ship dry docks has now resulted in five cancelled cruises on Carnival Breeze, which sails Western Caribbean cruises year-round from Galveston, Texas. The five Carnival Breeze cruises cancelled as a result of the schedule change are sailings that were scheduled to depart on Jan. 11, 2027, March 5, 2027, March 13, 2027, March 18, 2027, and March 22, 2027. Many passengers have called the new program a 'money grab' that prioritizes profits over passenger have also recently spoken out against the cruise line for charging high prices for add-ons and limiting what's included at its new exclusive cruise destination in The Bahamas, Celebration Key. Many have used Royal Caribbean's CocoCay as an example of a cruise line private destination that gets it right. Although Royal Caribbean also charges steep prices for add-ons, passengers can enjoy unlimited food and use their cruise beverage packages on the island. At Celebration Key, Carnival passengers are limited to one complimentary meal and can't use their beverage packages. 'If Carnival is trying to up their game and compete with Royal, have any of the 'beards' been to CocoCay?
